Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 101Sep 30, 2013 11:45 am Txateu, I reckon we'll stick with the fugly sinks in the powder room. Our options seem very limited in-terms of choosing a sink from the standard range. Current: Option 1 - Use as displayed: (The over hang looks even fuglier) Option 2 - Use Current Bathroom Sink (not proportionate for powder + overhang would be more than we envisaged) Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 102Sep 30, 2013 9:50 pm I am sticking with the fugly sink too! I just cannot be bothered arguing and trying to get something that is not what I want but just slightly better. I will have to grow to like it eventually! Good luck CW Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 103Oct 01, 2013 2:50 pm Oh gawd. I can't even remember what the sink looked like when we did our selections... O_o - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. Renovated...a LOT. Built in 2013. Our thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67954 Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 104Oct 01, 2013 4:49 pm Ours is still up in the air on, our admin has been quite helpful on resolving this issue. Hopefully once this is resolved it will pave the way for the rest of them who have ordered the same sink and are not happy with it. Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 105Oct 01, 2013 4:50 pm "After a brief hiatus on the buld front, here's where we are at the moment. We had a formal walk through last Friday. The house does look really good and majority of the work carried out is incredibly well done. We were given red dots to mark out where there were the paint job required a do-over and a blue dots for the other issues. We also had Building inspector go through the house at the same time. His report had about 33 items which need to be fixed. A couple of them are would require a bit of work, but the others should be an easy fix. We also had the blinds quotes taken on the day. Unfortunately one of them was running late, which meant they both rocked up at the same time! (awkward situation) the one who came in late had to wait. Anyway enough babbling, here’s some pics diarrhea of our polka dotted walls and the rest of the house. He has been going hammer and tongs to get the house completed by the end of this week. Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 109Oct 01, 2013 5:24 pm Oh wow! Your home is looking amazing! I love everything about it! When is your handover date? Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 110Oct 01, 2013 5:30 pm lol, that is funny, but at the same time empathise with your situation too. Thanks ES, The one thing we should have done was to go cashmere for the bench-top in the kitchen. The white looks a little out of place i reckon. Anyway our H/o date is 8th Oct for now! Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 111Oct 01, 2013 5:32 pm What sort of downlights are they? Were they working while you did PCI? At our tender appointment, we were told that the downlights in the luxury pack are now actually LEDs. No paperwork actually said that though... I'm wondering if all downlights have now been changed to LEDs Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 112Oct 01, 2013 5:39 pm Ari What sort of downlights are they? I'm wondering if all downlights have now been changed to LEDs We started with the luxury pack and then added some more lights and switches everywhere, so I'm bummed to learn that the luxury pack has LED's now ours are definitely halogens. PS if i had the chance to 'do over' the electrical appointment. I'd get an electrician to do all the lighting after handover. MV/Argus charges/margins are (to put it subtly) outrageous! Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 113Oct 02, 2013 12:14 pm I think our kitchens will look quite similar except for the benches, we went with cashmere hopefully MV won't say that they are out of stock. I think the white still looks really good, once you add the final touches it will look more like home We decided to to extra electrical things after handover, hopefully we will actually save some money. MV had ridiculous prices for everything! Are you all packed? The 8th is only a week away, how exciting for you! All the best with moving would love to see some pictures when everything is complete Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 116Oct 03, 2013 2:35 pm Thanks ES....we've been busy trying to arrange all the trades to fit in before we move in, sadly all wont be possible. txateu, considering the options out there, i reckon we'll have to stick with the basin too. Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 119Oct 08, 2013 1:37 pm Hey CW, Any news on your handover? Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 120Oct 08, 2013 2:01 pm Hi ES, We unfortunately only had a partial handover as the final cheque hadn't come through. The rest of it will be completed tomorrow at the Henley office(fingers crossed). There were some outstanding issues which needed to be addressed, they will fix those during the week. The flooring guy was in today, so was the electrician to fix up the optic fiber cabling. The garage was re-concreted to smoothen the surface. Congrats. Will be watching this progress and interested to see how you go with summit. 12 36037 hi guys. Please be nice. First time home builder in Qld.
