We sourced our own as a nice bath is something I've never had and always wanted! Here it is: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It's from ACS Bathrooms and the brand/model is Moda Dama. It's W 1800 x D 750 x H 600 mm. This is for the ensuite. The main bathroom is just getting whatever. Re: Knockdown/rebuild Classic style weatherboard Melbourne 107Jun 20, 2013 9:43 pm Your house is going to be lovely - can't wait to see your exterior colours go on - that's a combo we are considering but we will have a dark slate look roof. I love weatherboard homes but they are not well thought of here in Perth where double brick reigns supreme! Our will have rendered brick on the ground floor with reverse brick veneer clad with weather boards on top. Keep posting the pics!! Re: Knockdown/rebuild Classic style weatherboard Melbourne 108Jun 20, 2013 9:55 pm Lovely. Bath is gorgeous and fretwork is amazing. I cant wait to see you place finished it is going to be beautiful Re: Knockdown/rebuild Classic style weatherboard Melbourne 109Jun 20, 2013 10:41 pm Wow thanks for the very kind comments. Lovely when people appreciate something as much as you do! That's a shame Judy, but don't forget it doesn't matter what other people think! Well, except for re-sale of course! I'm glad you like the fretwork Charnley, I think it adds a certain charm. Some people who've built the same house took off the ornate fretwork but we left it. Hopefully we've made the right choice. We also added the window seat. Tomorrow when I get some time I'll post the exterior colour selection. Definitely the right choice, and window seats are the bomb. Can't beat them when the sun comes in on a beautiful spring or winter day, watching the birds flit around the garden while you read a good book! Glad you included it, it makes the period charm of the place out the front. I went down the other day to see a seachange cottage but done in brick and no pretty fret work out the front, the owners of that one are regretting they did not have all the period charm of the ornate fret work out the front. I did not like it at all, being brick and no period charm of the fret work just looks like another brick house in the street. Looking forward to seeing your colour scheme for outside. Ours was Urban grey weatherboards, surfmist trims and dune coloured roof and garage door, I am so happy with that as being high on a hill, (yep we have amazing views of melbourne too) we did not want white weather boards as we did not want to look like a beacon on a hill LOL. There making great progress especially with the crappy weather we have had, love your front door too. It's great seeing everything in stages from nothing to finshed. Longest part I found was the fitting out inside. I look back and so glad we took pictures of every stage of the build too. Going to be wonderfull memories of our adventure into building our dream home. Love the double story it fits so well on your block and just perfect Re: Knockdown/rebuild Classic style weatherboard Melbourne 113Jun 23, 2013 11:56 am Thanks Lisa, lovely comments. Well, the other house like ours, I guess they wanted a more modern touch so they do have the fretwork but without the motifs. I can't really explain it. I'll put the picture: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So a bit more subtle I suppose. Nothing wrong with that, different tastes is all! They also chose not to have the ornate door frame with plain glass instead. The other one they build doesn't have any fretwork: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ To me that's slightly too plain but again, personal choice. Here is some fretwork we had on our old house, now sold. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I loved it and thought it gave the house a lot of character. Fair point Lisa about not wanting to be a beacon. Definitely the sun hits those light weatherboards and Surfmist roof, and it shines for sure! Yes I am expecting things to slowdown a little once we hit lock-up. Also I'll no longer be able to do drive-bys to take pictures! At the moment it looks all grey and slightly drab. However I AM really happy with the grey, I think it goes well with the Suft Mist. Also the cloudy weather doesn't help. Sun's out now, I should go get more pics!
