I'm hot on your heals, just another 1.5 years now Look forward to pictures of the finished product. I'm envious!!!! Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: We've finally started 105Oct 03, 2007 8:33 pm go mekkie , go mekkie!!! We've been in the house a week now. I'll just say one thing: before you move in, make sure everything is perfect, and don't hand over the final cheque until you're happy with EVERYTHING. We've been in the house a week now. I'll just say one thing: before you move in, make sure everything is perfect, and don't hand over the final cheque until you're happy with EVERYTHING. Mek, whats happened?? I have reverted to username - mattwalker Carlisle Homes - Grande 43 My building experience is here: http://www.ourgrandeplan.blogspot.com Re: We've finally started 112Oct 14, 2007 10:12 pm Well we are absolutely stunned at the change of customer care from our builder - several things need to be fixed, nothing major (standard size microwave does not fit into appliance cupboard as intended, pull-out bin specified in the contract - there is none, no phone for 2 days as wiring faulty - husband has home business, other minor cosmetic things).
After impressive communication throughout the building process, we have been told on several occasions we'd be called back, left messages, etc but nothing's happened. All we want is some sort of timeframe as to when issues would be fixed. The good impression has gone down the drain. Re: We've finally started 113Oct 14, 2007 10:18 pm WOW, isn't it amazing what happens once they get the last cheque....
Although, i suppose you wouldn't know about the phone connection until your provider hooks it up after handover.... Hope it works out a.s.a.p. for you Mek!!!! Good Luck. Re: We've finally started 114Oct 14, 2007 10:21 pm mek!
that sux. I know how you feel...1 bad thing can wash away all the good work done previously. My fingers are crossed for you! Chin up.. Matt I have reverted to username - mattwalker Carlisle Homes - Grande 43 My building experience is here: http://www.ourgrandeplan.blogspot.com Re: We've finally started 115Oct 23, 2007 9:15 pm I have a "centering" dilemma, just like Michelle. I need to design my own furniture and for this high wall here with the sad looking cabinet at the moment I thought I would put a 60cm high cabinet, a thick wall shelf above it and then on top some sort of picture. All that centred to the high window, right?? HELP!!
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x94/renc_photos/f94ddd85.jpg Longer than the window? Not all the way to the corner? This is our living room by the way. The TV will go onto the opposite wall, with the couch in the middle somewhere. Otherwise, no outstanding issues yet complete, were promised within two weeks. I have to say I am happy in the house, I feel some sort of "rightness" , must be the colours as they are my absolute favourite. I don't recommend charcoal cabinetry or charcoal carpets to anyone who minds a few handprints or a bit of fluff on the carpet as absolutely everything shows. The hydronic heating works super. Help please! Re: We've finally started 116Oct 23, 2007 9:39 pm What’s the rake of that ceiling mek….its high!!!
I would be careful not to put too much on this wall…..in my mind I see a very busy wall if you do what you have planned. Are you going to dress the window? If so what with? And remember the less is best theme? Was that you???? Take into consideration all the other elements that are going in this room. If you put it all on one wall, what will the rest of the room look like? I can’t really answer your question until you have finish furnishing the room. Take a wider photo of the room with everything in it.
