Only for the fact we will be moving in just before winter, I started thinking about what we will do about heating... I have looked into its at the AGL shop. I have decided to set 1500 of the wall out rather than flush mount it on the wall - this way the box will fit in this cavity. the TV can be mounted on this as well. I was happy then shocked today when contacted my DA has been approved & then told it now takes 5 weeks for EB to finalize everything paperwork wise. I mean come on everything is finalised reason DA done & I don't want any more variations which now is last chance if you do. So everything is clear cut signed off so 5 weeks more admin bloody hell I thought government departments were slow. I'm coming close to the period when they want to charge you more which for me is after April & I had everything settled Jan & into council 31st Jan. It is now 25th March DA approved & they want 5 more weeks. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3394Mar 25, 2013 9:33 pm ZRoyz... Have you got your ACC letter from the bank? (authority to commence construction letter)... Once you have Da approval, you also need to get a DA check, then you sign final construction drawings, file goes to estimating and then your 20 days until construction takes place starts... My land was ready 30thJuly 2012. I had to wait until September for my da approval and I started construction 7th December.... It seems to take forever... Just need a little patience. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3395Mar 25, 2013 9:35 pm Hi zRoYz, I suppose it varies. I had my DA approved before Christmas so I assume the process for you should be faster without the Christmas shut down etc. - Process for me is as follows: DA Approved - 20/12/2012 DA Check - 17/01/2013 Final variations/docs signed - 04/02 Peg out - 11/02 20 days/ Contract start date - 11/03 (builder to be on site within 20 days of pegout) Actual on site date -22/03 For us, we experienced delays getting on site within the 20 days due to the wet weather in mid Feb, they were actually on site at 29 (business days). I think in most cases builder is on site within a week or so, we were just unlucky. Fingers crossed the process for you will be much faster It's frustrating at times but you will get there Granadz ~ Building Drysdale 29+2sq http://jason4rose.blogspot.com.au/ Slab ~ 3 April Frame ~ 17 April Bricks ~ 3 June Lock up ~ 17June Linings ~ 25 June PCI ~ 11 Sept Keys ~ 27 Sept Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3396Mar 25, 2013 9:40 pm Holy sh!t, 1sttime... That's a huge wait. Pretty sure our wedding will happen before our house that rate. I have emailed council today to get an update from their end. Hoping for good news but expecting nothing but bad and an invoice for more money. Kristen & Stephen - Built the Eden Brae Drysdale 27 at Oran Park (We're in!!!) Blog: "Race to Oran Park" - updated 25.8.2014 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 3399Mar 25, 2013 11:25 pm Steel Frames were mentioned a few pages back, yes EBH are offering them in the Hunter. We were at a seminar at Thornton a few weeks ago and they spruiked them. The flyer says the frames are made by Stoddart, and is free of charge, also comes with Colourbond roof at no charge (because steel roof trusses don't support tiles). M. are also offering steel frames here now too. I assume this is because in Maitland, steel frames have been McDonald Jones' key competetive advantage for a long time as termites are a real issue here. *edit*, btw I know its my first post, but I am not a shill.
