Land north or South facing?

Hi,

Planning to buy land in Melbourne west, there are 2 land available, one facing the north while another facing south

We like the house plan (Windsor 187 from orbit homes), was wondering which land should I buy taking into consideration the orientation /room facing?

Our house is south-facing. The living area is at the back portion of the house so it has the maximum exposure to sun. This also allowed us to put the solar panels on north-facing part of the roof which apparently is the best location for it.

Assuming they are both flat.......South facing with living rooms on the back.

Better than North facing but not as good as east or west facing (see http://www.anewhouse.com.au/?p=826)

If one is sloping and the other flat the flater one will be cheaper to build on
