Nope, you were right. My plans have dropped off. I just checked. When I first uploaded stuff it was with DH and we did it via a site that he had created for us, but that account has stopped and so too the access to photos. I will try to upload from photobucket once we get Internet. Blake - there is a photo of our double sided fireplace on page 184 (hand over) or page 187 (moved in) of my thread. I don't think the swap will work though, too noisy to have the laundry next to the living. Esp as we do a lot of our laundry at night (right now actually) and it is annoying when watching tv (like now!). So we want the laundry to be far away That's what soundproof plaster wall and acoustic batts are for. I discussed things with DH and we decided to keep th study in its current location. We think the view from the study will be nice and worth it. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1630Oct 20, 2012 9:14 am thegilbeys Thanks gogo. I'll have to get into your thread and check out your dining area. A sne@ky pic of the house near you would be great, cheers! Hi Casey, Hope you read this thread still Here is the house near us, that I love, with the stone feature walls etc, not sure if it is what you want, but I love it u fortunately I couldnt get any closer, so I'm not sure if you can see the stone, but it is more of a round stone cladding rather than stacked stone Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1631Oct 22, 2012 12:52 pm Hello all, Gogo that it a stunning home, love the look of it and it's massive!! We have received our revised plans, the main changes we made were to have the master bedroom downstairs and remove 1 bathroom upstairs. Sunshine & jodge suggested to move the laundry to the northern side, and our draftie complied Here are the plans: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd296/yves_schoof/Quinns%20house/Scottgroundplanrevisedmasterdownst.jpg http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd296/yves_schoof/Quinns%20house/Scottupperplanrevisedmasterdownst.jpg Does anyone have any suggestions for improvement? I am not sure about the study wall, and the 'cut-off' corner - do you think it would be better if it's just a normal wall? Also not happy about having the upstairs toilet in the bathroom (and in plain view when you open the door) - can anyone see a way to reconfigure the bathroom and have a separate toilet? Cheers! Scoofy Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1632Oct 22, 2012 2:32 pm I like the cut off wall, our study has it and you can put a nice piece of art with a light above on that small wall into the family room and can be your evening night light. It will shimmer!!! Also good, cos kids scream around the corner and dent a sharp wall,( with their ride on bike if a toddler or the soccer ball if 14) so this way it is only dirty fingers and no dents on the corner. Can you move the laundry washing machine wall slightly over, so you lose some store cupboard and have the door in the centre so you can use all that fabulous wall ( study wall ) for some sort of storage, or a slim cupboard or something, seems a waste. You could have 300 mm wide shelves and store emergency food storage on it or something. Have a broom cupboard, or shoe racks so shoes aren't dumped in the front entry way Same with walk in pantry, centre the door for going outside and you could have 300 mm wide shelves on that long wall for tins. ( wall backing onto kitchen) That will give you 3 tins deep of storage which is wasted at the moment with the door against that storage wall and not in the middle of the end room wall. Don't know about the toilet..sorry. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1633Oct 22, 2012 4:20 pm gogo65 thegilbeys Thanks gogo. Also makes sense about avoiding a sharp corner in the living area, we have 2 toddlers and they ride their bikes/scooter everywhere! Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1635Oct 22, 2012 6:01 pm And not so sore if they smash into it themselves as they push around that corner together. If it was a square angle, the space to get through would be smaller... And if they push a trolly/ wagon you just know they will take a chunk of corner out!! You can tell what our home use to look like 9 yrs ago with 5 under 12yrs!! Cars speeding across the floor, racing to see who's crashed into the wall first, dolls prams being pushed, with no one behind them, to see how fast they travel, skids all over the floor on their socks and on and on and on. Now they just sit and play on their phones and play station. Enjoy this time. It is so cute and fun. It isn't cute and fun watching their thumbs become stumps. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1636Oct 22, 2012 6:49 pm Hey Scoofy. Great improvement on the plans. Much better layout and efficient use of space. Agree with kiwi on benefits of a cut corner. I also really like the study on the north, that will be a lovely room. Not sure what you meant about switching laundry as it is still on the north and we were suggesting it goes on the south and study on north. If there was one thing I would consider it would be putting powder on north but then that would not work with ensuite. Nope, I think the plan is looking fab. Well done! So north is good I recon. If you spend a lot of time in there , and you sew, or use the room to iron with a tv on , or use it as a craft room too, etc then bring on the sun I say. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1638Oct 22, 2012 7:04 pm Ps looks like you have steps up by laundry door in the hall? If you can take a little off study, that Laundry would then be very multi functional with being able to use both walls if it was just slightly bigger. It is one of the most used rooms in the house... Scoofy Scoofy-if you run a highlight window( handy for shampoo etc) and put the shower along the external wall, you could have two seperate basins ( or 1 and a cupboard) then put the seperate toilet where the shower currently is. Another option-bath under window with vanity extended as a shelf at the end of bath, shower now where bath was: Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1640Oct 22, 2012 11:42 pm Thanks Dee, I really like option 1! I will check with the draftie if he can make it work, my only concern is the shower may be a bit narrow.
