Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Plucka's Build- Frame Done 24Oct 04, 2012 3:40 pm Plucka you house is looking great, we built the same way I Brookwater and I am guessing you are in the same area, we love the reverse levels, when master 8 has his friends over they just go down stairs and we don't here from them they love the space. We actually built our concrete pool part above the ground 1.2 at the highest point and there was no extra cost to do that. Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Plucka's Build- Frame Done 25Oct 13, 2012 1:03 pm Roof started: Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57639 Re: Plucka's Build- Roof On 27Oct 18, 2012 5:50 pm Roof all Done, Windows delivered and installed tomorrow. Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57639 Re: Plucka's Build- Almost at lockup 34Nov 23, 2012 10:00 am Sounds like the SS has lit a bomb under a few tradies - probably hoping to get your job mostly finalised before the end of the year. Looking forward to seeing some new pics to see the progress that occurred over the last week. Nice choice of front door - also like the bulkhead (which must be the kitchen?). The stacker doors out to the deck is great! Re: Plucka's Build- Almost at lockup 35Nov 23, 2012 6:55 pm Ok latest pics from today below. Cant wait to see more progress pics... Your elevation is gorgeous... you must be very happy with it so far Re: Plucka's Build- Lockup 39Nov 30, 2012 10:40 am Wow Plucka - the progress on your place is reat - you have definitely caught back up to me. Very impressed with your deck - will look good with the stainless steel wire running through. Garage door looks good too - is the colour caoba? What paint colours (both interior and exterior) did you go with? - seems that they have come together extremely well. What next? Tiling of bathrooms? Hopefully shouldn't take long, although our meeting with the tilers on Thursday I was asked a few questions about offsets etc that I really had no clue about. Have to choose grout colour on Tuesday - who knew tiling was so complicated! Re: Plucka's Build- Lockup 40Nov 30, 2012 11:48 am Yeah the last couple of weeks has been full steam ahead, makes up for the slow times. Dropped by the house this morning and a bloke was fixing the the cables to the Deck Railing, looked great. Oh and all the doors had been delivered. Colour wise I've taken some risks and gone quite bold colours. Exterior I went with Dulux gnu Tan, Interior Hogs Bristle, they are similar colours but gnu obviously a lot darker. I was worried full strength hogs would be too strong as most people seem to go with half or even quarter strength but looking at it yesterday I'm glad I went with it. All the trim, skirtings, doors etc will be white plus white plantation shutters- I think will go nicely and offer a good contrast. I'll no doubt paint some feature walls myself once I'm in. So far really happy with the colours, the next big test will be seeing the kitchen as I've gone pretty bold there as well with stipple hemp cabinets, blue volga granite and at this stage a dark red glass spashback. It will either look amazing or crap lol. I did see a display home with stipple hemp kitchen with black granite bench tops and thought it looked great, oh and with black kickboards for extra effect. Garage Door is Jarrah I think, I hope it will match the modwood gables which are yet to go in. Next thing I believe is kitchen cabinets on Monday or Tuesday, not sure what else but SS will be giving me his weekly update today so will know then. Tiles- what a headache- I found them them the most difficult thing to choose in the entire house, there are so many options when it comes to tiling. Carpet and Bamboo flooring I decided in seconds but tiles- I am still not sure I've chosen correctly until I see them installed. I still reckon I'm a week or two at least behind you, how long does your builder close up over Xmas? Mine is 3 1/2 weeks, will be frustrating seeing no progress for that long when so close to completion. I still guessing at February handover.
