I am looking forward to be a local resident too!! We thought about buying a block in the cul-de-sac but we didn't as it was going to cost us a bit more, but I hope I can be part of your street parties! I would like to ask the people on this forum that are building or have just finish building abut Extra Costs. I have a few friends warning us that the price the building companies give you is not actually the real price that it could increase dramatically, Has anyone gone trough same experience here in GF? We are building with CL Ariel 27 can anyone tell me about their experience with CL? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3655Apr 16, 2012 6:19 pm BillMac HoudaMan, building is not an exact science. You will not get anything "perfect" in construction but eveything must be built to certain tolerences. I have attached a link to those tolerences. Happy reading. http://www.buildingcommission.com.au/re ... IDE_07.pdf Thanks, Bill. I had a read through today and it shocks me that some tolerances are so much (gaps around windows, bricks, and eaves are one). According to this document, it would seem that if its out of site, its out of mind - unless its structural issue. Thanks for providing the document Houda ---- Built the Lincoln 35 at Georges Fair Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3656Apr 16, 2012 6:29 pm Hi all. I was speaking to a friend who asked why council takes so long with our applications for GF. He thought we would fall under the compliant development scheme. Dies anyone know if we do or if we don't, why? Building Wisdom Aspiration 29 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3657Apr 16, 2012 6:46 pm How long has your taken amamara?? Liverpool is really good considering takes about 8 weeks if all is good longer if the builder needs to amend or did not submit full documentation A little thing I knocked up Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Top of the street by Mecha-Wombat, on Flickr Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Middle of the street by Mecha-Wombat, on Flickr I went outside once. Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3658Apr 16, 2012 7:09 pm Mecha- we've only just gone To council and they advised the expected 6-8 weeks. If we were eligible for the complied development it would only take 2 weeks. Hence why I'm asking. Quite curious to know. From my understanding one is eligible if the block is greater than 200m2 and is wider than 6m. I think all blocks in GF fall in this category. So why is there no mention of the complied development? There must be a reason. Building Wisdom Aspiration 29 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3659Apr 16, 2012 7:17 pm I think complied development is for knock down rebuild and pools . As the council would have already had approval for a building on a block whereas your block has no existing approval it will need to have a proper DA lodged I went outside once.
