Browse Forums Building A New House Re: I'm back and ready to build! Slab update 20/07 21Jul 20, 2008 7:54 am Well it took longer than we thought to get the slab laid. Because we had so much fill and were having a piered slab we had to wait 10 days for the piers to cure instead of 2. And then, even though queensland is in drought, we had rain!!! So we got pushed back another couple of days.
Finally we have a slab!! Our concrete tanks and hstp have been delievered and the area on the ground to be dug to bury them has been marked and approved by us. I hate seeing these and was worried you'd be able to see it from the house and alfresco, but hopefully where they have marked it is far enough towards the garage so I won't see it as much. I will just have to screen it from the road. Also, we changed from a poly tank to a concrete one but someone forgot to mention that to the poly people and now I have a HUGE extra tank on the block. I am sort of hoping they forget about it and we can roll it up the back and try and hide it, as long as they haven't charged me for it that is!! Our frame should be delieverd around the 23rd and then they said it would be only a couple of days to put up. It's really exciting to see things happening now.
