Oh and if it makes you feel any better, by 6.30 I have already been up for an hour :/

Well its done.. lots and lots and lots of stickers over the house now!

We only have one serious issue, the wall in the hall behind the kitchen has some pretty serious plaster problems, and they have to pull the plaster down, and re-do this.

Basically the plaster/paint is 'bubbling' so yer, wait and see on that.. could delay handover dependent on trades.

The rest is all touch-ups, functionally the house is perfect, just paint imperfections really. Our SS is awesome, and was even pointing out stuff we missed, all in all we are happy..

I have to say that I am in the same boat - i had complete trust in my SS and BC and have been completely ignored since handover.

Ebony has tried to help, and I have even sent an email directly to the manager of PD Prestige west - but so far no response.

I too will have to take things further.

Hey Humble, good to hear that PCI went well and the issues will be fixed for you.

I went past our place today and the painters were back to finish off before PCI. It was an opportunity for me to have a sticky beak and I had a really good talk with the painters and the amazing thing is I find out they know some of my relatives. ::surprise::

They said that they have worked for a few volume builders and in their experience PD built the better quality homes. I pointed out a few of little issues with the painting and they were really good about it and noticed most of them already.

Due to the worlds slowest bank and Christmas our start has been delayed. Today we were told that site scrape is booked for the 5th of Jan and slab booked for the 12th. We are happy with these dates it's not too far off but the anticipation is killing me! Lol

Congrats on some dates Wateman, especially with the slowdown for Christmas it's good to see some dates booked for you.

Our upstairs framing has begun and we're really pleased with how it's going. BC called today and they say it will be finished Friday but they won't invoice us til 16th Jan so a big tick to PD as our SS wants to be able to inspect it properly before he says completed.

Well we have some great news: PD have finally let us have the Elements Magnesium bricks.

The catch, they are delayed until mid Feb and PD will be extending the contract date and there could be penalties. We will get the price tomorrow. We have asked for Cat 1 bricks wherever there is render (about 1/4) of the house, so this should keep costs down.

Fingers crossed we will still have some spending money after this variation.

Sounds like everyone is making great progress....
Ours has the 1st level windows in and the bricks have arrived today...
Inside plombing was done also yesterday

Dont think much more will be done until next year - will post some pics on the blog at the end of the week

Getting stuff organised this time of the year is a killer. I've got a guy re-levelling the land on Tuesday which is great as it gives me time over Christmas to extend the alfresco and start landscaping.

The house is exciting when you’re watching it getting built but after handover when you have to do everything yourself it gets exhausting.
