We just got the builder to take them during a site clean. I still can't believe how much quicker the same company is in another state. We'd already be in if your mob was doing our house Hey Twiggy, originally we were determined to keep them when we found out they just chuck them away at the end of the build (couldn't stand the thought of the waste and also the fact we had paid for them ) so we were all geared up to move them out of the way of the site clean-up guys and make use of them somewhere in the landscaping, but without having the right brick trolley to move them easily we decided someone else could pay for the honour to take away some brand new bricks There were a few people interested, so there must be a market for them. From what our SS has told us Plantation are pretty slow in getting new work at the moment, so they probably have an oversupply of tradies ready to do the work up here in QLD which is helping our build (and yet I still think they are dragging along the build ) I just want to get in the house! Send them down here to flush out the cowboys, we need some quality tradies in vic. Been stalking your thread, your house up is coming nicely, love the way they put things together. Look at the way they do the water proofing in your house, thats what I would call water proofing, they did a bare minimum in my house, stopped at the shower base. Should have moved up north long ago. We'd already be in if your mob was doing our house Hi Twiggy I think yours' pretty quick, we started at pretty much the same time, and they still haven't finished the painting in my house. It gets worse, the lockup carpenter hasn't stopped fixing all the stuffed-ups in my house ever since, he was cursing the whole world every time I see him there. My house looks like a piece of poorly done patch work. Our house goes to the handover department on Monday, so we're hoping we'll be moving in a few weeks Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! I'm not sure the QLD tradies could cope with the cold down there It is good to hear that the our guys seem to be doing a good job though, I didn't even really think about how much waterproofing was normal but it seems that each tradie has a different standard... Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor Q1 - Cabinets in! 197Sep 12, 2011 11:39 am Big progress on the internals to report!! The majority of the cabinetry is in and tiles have been delivered. Unfortunately we couldn't get inside over the weekend but we managed to get some covert photo's of the work that has been done, I was so tempted to go and get a really tall ladder and break in! We are really happy with the colours and the soft close catches we chose for the overhead cupboards. From what we can tell all the work in the laundry is done including the bench top and sink and my beautiful butlers pantry is all fitted out. It is all getting really exciting now!! Very nice Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor Q1 - Cupboards in! 199Sep 13, 2011 3:53 pm Tamara1975 Love the kitchen!! Very nice thanks Tamara, can't wait for it all to be finished and I can start cooking up a storm Your place looks great too, I was admiring the blue feature wall in your bedroom - we were thinking of going for a blue in our main bedroom, not sure on the shade yet though. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor Q1 - Cupboards in! 200Sep 13, 2011 4:04 pm The meeting with the tiler went well this morning, they should be finished on Friday with any luck. It was good to go out and meet with them to go over everything, especially as we picked up that the plans didn't have a tile splashback behind the sink in the main bathroom, so they are going to fix that for us and hopefully extend the wall tiles above the bath in that bathroom and in the powder room. The cupboards look great up close, we took a few photo's that I'm hoping to post up tonight if the internet decides to play nice Is it possible to render an old corrugated iron shed.I have heard that it can be done if it is covered with chicken wire first. Not sure of the ratio of the render mix and… 0 4923 Thanks.
