Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Frame up 1 day after the slab was poured 5Jun 02, 2011 10:30 pm Our frame was up 22 hours after the slab was poured, 4 months later there isn't a crack or crumbled edge to speak of. A standard timber frame doesn't weigh enough to cause load damage to a well constructed slab - according to engineering mates anyway... Only concern would be heavy machinery or building materials being delivered directly onto a fresh slab. As in the frame would go up, but the roof tiles wouldn't go up for a couple of weeks. My builder wouldnt do anything for two weeks. Its ironic that i just posted about the delays and my post was just above yours in active topics lol. My build has a fair bit of steel to come so thats why I kinda coped the wait, but a month was kinda ridiculous. The frame whilst heavy due to the amount of wood involved,is light compared to tiles and bricks. The builder knows what he can get away with without damaging the slab,the sooner the house is done the sooner they get paid by you. Hello needing some advice.
