Friday last week saw the drainage pipes go in and the meter box erected. Also resulted in another new pile of dirt appearing at the front of the block. A few more piles and we'll find ourselves in a valley. Also as mentioned on the blog (http://build.nlturner.com/2011/plastic-forest) there are 3 other homes in the estate (by 2 different builders) who are at the exact same stage as us (their drainage and meter box appeared on Friday as well). Shared sub-contractor? Anyway piccies: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our plastic forest Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The overview Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Neighbours behind our block (top right) different builder, exact same stage of their build despite site cut a month behind ours. Re: N&L Milano at Augustine Heights QLD - Drainage and Meter 67Jan 24, 2011 8:33 am Great news to finally see some action on the house, fingers crossed this break in the weather holds and the slab will go down quickly. Had a quick walk last night around the new parklands they are building at Springfield, wow we will be so lucky to have that on our doorstep, they are very beautiful. Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: N&L Milano at Augustine Heights QLD - Drainage and Meter 68Jan 31, 2011 12:07 pm Haven't been through the park yet but it certainly looks impressive from the road. Seeing all that concrete actually made it a bit more real. Up until that point it felt like we were handing over money left, right and centre with nothing to show for it. morox Looking very good!!! We were just working out last night how long we think it will be before they break ground... our guess is June / July! What a wait! No I haven't started my own thread - I guess i probably should... We had heaps of trouble trying to find an existing Milano blog or thread when we first started looking at designs. You are building in Vic? How long is the average build time down there for a single story house? Tamara1975 Oh how exciting!! I was never into concrete and before we were getting the ball rolling with our house I used to wonder why people said slabs were beautiful. Now I understand!! Your slab does looks beautiful. LOL. Thanks, glad you like our slab. It's crazy how this stuff gets so exciting. If someone had have said to me a year ago "One day you'll wake up really early on the weekend and drive for 30 minutes to go and take photos of some foam and steel reinforcing and then you'll sit there for three hours while they finish pouring concrete" I would have called them an idiot. Yet here I am, having done all that and now wondering whether I'll drive out there again tonight to see if they've delivered some nailed together lumps of wood. gah. Maybe because the roof trusses were not there? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They have also cleared a lot of the dirt that was in piles surrounding the house and spread it around the slab. Made the interior look very small but hopefully that's just an optical illusion Got another message from Mum who drives past our place every morning on her way to work to let us know that they had started putting up the frame this morning.
