Nope, they are aerial shots. They fly a plane overhead and take photos. No satellite (other than perhaps military ones) have the fidelity and quality when taking photos so far up in the sky. They say so on their website (you can see the exact reference here) Thanks for the info. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 1073Jan 06, 2011 8:05 am Hi there, I also wonder if there is a Aurora/Lyndarum community forum. I can't find any forums online to raise our voice and exchange ideas apart from here. The only web site I found is http://www.auroraliving.com.au but it's not updated and it serves like an information board not a two-way communication site. I know there is a Aurora community association, but I can't see them online and get to know what their agenda is apart from leaving an email address here. I really think there should be a kind of portal for everyone to get involved so that we can form a strong community. I am also working in IT. I am happy to donate some server space for setting up a website (open source) if that helps. Again, these are just some of my thoughts. I am a future resident, I might not know what has been happening there. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 1074Jan 06, 2011 9:32 am As for the smart metre for the new built homes, here is the answer I got back from AusNet: Quote: Thank you for your email, I hope that the following information may assist you. At present we are conducting a controlled roll out, which means that Smart meter installations outside this schedule are not being carried out , (i.e new connections etc). We are unable to advise when your installation is likely to take place, but can assure you that you will receive notification prior to our arrival in the form of 2 letters, the first arriving up to 6 weeks prior to installation. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 1075Jan 06, 2011 11:00 am Everyone worried about the rubbish being dumped on their sites really shouldn't as the builders will clean it all up before handover. When building there really is alot more important things to worry about! Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 1076Jan 06, 2011 11:05 am No community watch scheme, just a lot of hoons around Aurora and sellfish people on NYE with the fireworks but I guess that is the suburbs!! I think that it is a necessity that your thought gets converted to reality. Many thanks again for the thought. Are you living in aurora currently? What stage were you at and with whom did you built? What do you mean by the infrastructure and after care by VicUrban? Can you please share your thoughts in detail. It would help all the future residents to prepare themselves for the times to come. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 1079Jan 06, 2011 2:43 pm mayank hi everyone and happy new year..... i just wantd to ask anyone if the exhaust duct from the kitchen to the roof is mandatory for the builder to provide under building regulation code or is it our own cost. also who do i contact for this matter aurora or a lawyer . any info would be appreciated, Hi Mayank, It seems to apply weirdly ... a couple of sample home inspection reports i read refer to building codes that stipulate how they should be done and the standard of work required. I think it could be mandatory for 2x storey homes esp if there is a powder room in the ground floor. However, there is nothing that actually says it is mandatory. i guess the standard only applies when it is installed and as such it is an 'optional' upgrade that you can put in. You could contact the HIA and ask for the relevant standard that applies to external ducting of contaminated air from a sanitary compartment or somthing like that. We asked our builder ZH and they said that they will duct the exhaust only through the ceiling into the roof space as the tiles have alot of 'breathing space'. we did not want that 'aroma' percolating throughout the top so decided to get them externally vented through the roof. we did this for all our w/c's as well ... handy during the winter. When building there really is alot more important things to worry about! Clean-ups are actually laughable as there are many things that they leave behind. You only find out once you start digging the soil and you find, render, bags of mortar, strips for the nailing guns, broken tiles, buried wood, plaster board and insulation pieces, bricks, sawn off timber from fencing and so forth. i suggest that you do not give them the final payment until they clean your site off all debris (including the nature strips that you will be responsible for) The setback from the kerb is 4m.
