I am Just wondering what is the chance of buying a reasonable size block in there, say 16m block? I checked the Saltwater coast website but I don't think they bother to update the site. I also went to the land sale office a couple of weeks ago, but the sales guy told me they only got 4 or 5 small blocks and got no idea when is the next release. BTW, when was the wetland stage released? HI Emery, Was at the sales office last weekend and there was a 16m wide lot in the Garden Square release for sale. Was looking at it too but decided that it might be a little bit too big for me. Think it's was for $270K or something.....sorry can't remember the lot number.. According to the sales guys there, the next release might be in mid April. Hope that helps. have you looked at realestate.com at the resale blocks??? there are a few on the market at the moment Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 125Oct 28, 2010 3:43 pm I've just purchased lot 725 Anchor Crescent from the Park Edge release - anyone building near me? Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 126Oct 29, 2010 8:45 am We bought Lot 745 at Park Edge, so just around the corner from you. I'll be interstate during the Christmas Party on 28/11, however my wife Caitlin will be there so perhaps you can meet up. Land down, house left to select. Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 128Oct 29, 2010 2:49 pm We are considering Porter Davis, Metricon and Hermitage Homes, very similar floor plans and size to what you have selected. I notice with Porter Davis that their standard designs don't have a door from the garage to the house. I hope the building goes smoothly for you. Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 129Oct 29, 2010 3:16 pm If you go for the extras packages with PD then you get a door from the garage (and the packages do seem like very good value) Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 130Oct 29, 2010 8:39 pm Hi guys, I’m just wondering if any would be able to share their advice in relation to finding left over building materials on their block from your next door neighbour build!!! Basically 4 months ago my next door neighbour started building once they had their slab up there was a left over wire mesh (maybe 3*2) laid on their temporary fence, few weeks later while doing my routine inspection I found this mesh laid on the middle of my block!!! I ignored it as I thought the builders will clean up.. But it seems that it is forgotten now =( What can I do? it is not a box or a bag that can be removed and just deal with it... I’m really not sure how to go about this! Any suggestions? thnx Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 133Nov 01, 2010 9:21 am Audreyand Oscar I've just purchased lot 725 Anchor Crescent from the Park Edge release - anyone building near me? Hi Belinda, We are building on 709 in Sandy Ave, just one road up from you. We're hoping to go to the Christmas party, so might see you there? We went to have a look at progress on our road yesterday and it looks like our end is ready to be laid, so that's pretty good going. The path is round the wetland lake and the leisure complex has been marked out. wonder if we'll be in before it's completed? We're building the Newington 40 with Carlisle Homes. We have our tender appointment this week, so fingers crossed it doesn't go over budget and we'll be ready to get going when land titles. Hi AndrewCaitlin, Audrey&Oscar are quite right, we generally include Internal Access Doors in our promotions -so it is possible. Have you had a chance to talk with anyone at PD yet? If you have any more questions feel free to contact the office or visit our sales staff at a display home. Cheers. Porter Davis Homes Questions? Who is heading along? Will be nice to meet some future neighbours there. Renee & James ------------------------- Building Newington 40 in Saltwater Coast At tender stage November 2010 Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 136Nov 11, 2010 4:38 pm Hello fellow coasters, Just a very angry post as have just been notified that due to a late settlement on our land we are being charged an extra $1600 for FKPs solicitor charges and interest charges. Titles came out on a Friday and we were given 14 non negotiable days to settle. Out of those 14 days the banks did not work 6 due to weekends/Melbourne cup day weekend (Melbourne cup weekend completely unaccounted for in these 14 days). The evaluator from the bank was going out onto the property the Thursday after the titles came out and was told by FKP that the roads are blocked into the estate until the following Wednesday. Following Wednesday being 2 days before we were meant to settle which is nowhere near enough time for the bank to approve the evaluation and provide the funds. So not our fault in any sense of the word and we are being slugged.. Has anyone else had the same thing happen and is there a way to deal with it. Whilst $1600 may seem immaterial compared to the price of the whole project, it is an item of furniture and a completely unjustified, unnecessary expense. As 'nice' as FKP has been it appears that they are nothing but money hungry bastards to me... Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 138Nov 20, 2010 8:44 pm Hi Fellow Coasters, We popped out today to view the progress on our house and was so impressed with how quickly everything is happening! The houses in the estate are going up at a rate of pace, so great to see Unfortunately we are unable to make the Christmas Party, but good on FKP for organising it. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about what may be going into the shopping precinct?? I went to see the place on Saturday and found the beginnings of a road - VERY EXCITING!!! I would like to go on Sunday - can anyone post the details? Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 140Nov 28, 2010 6:46 pm Hi Coasters, I'm seeking some help here from those of you who has bought a block which looks like a corner lot, but does not classified as corner lot by the developer. i.e sided with Lane way. (such as Porsche Lane, Scotch Lane, Parr Lane) I bought one of such lot (facing street and sided with Lane way) with the developer promised it is a normal lot, NOT a corner lot, so there will be no corner lot (2 m side setback) restriction. Now I got my tender back from the builder and they said that it is a corner lot according to Rescode (Rescode override estate rules) so unless we apply for dispensation, the house has to move 2m away from the side. I went to council and showed them the engineering plan and hoping to get some clarification, but the guy who does the approval thing could not guarantee anything due to the land is not titled and the engineering plan is nothing but good for selling properties, he needs the final approved subdivision plan to be sure, but he did say that by looking at the engineering plan, it does not look like a corner lot. I rang the developer, they insisted it is not a corner according to Rescode since it is sided with Lane way, they also said that there are similar lots in other stages before me and have no problem at all. They suggested I get the builder's surveyor to check it again and submit the plan to DRC and they will approve it, but my builder insisted I need a letter from council or dispensation, they will not submit anything. So I got a catch 22 situation here. So anyone who has bought such lot, could you mind sharing with me if you got such problem?
