Hey guys...
Thanx so much on the compliments on the lights and the gates etc.
I am quite surprised at my husbands ability to do handyman work.... all these years together and i've never seen him use power tools... its actually quite sexy lol

So the flooring went in today... it looks fantastic... im so excited as it feels like a real house now lol... and i can start moving things in

Hey guys,
just an update...
appliances got delivered yesterday.... and are being installed tomorrow... so we are still on track for moving on friday yay

I was looking at my beautiful floors and had an urge....
so i went shopping

And got some lovely items at FANTASTIC prices..

I got a DYSON.... yay......... RRP $629..... Renee's price at the good guys $399.... thats right $399

Wow Renee it sounds like you are having a ball with all your new purchases incl your lovely floors! They look like floorboards - BEAUTIFUL!! Thanks for sharing the photos!
I can't wait to see your appliances in and A shot of your lovely layout with everything in!
Sounds like you will settle in very easily! Can't wait to hear all about it. Hopefully that will be me soon & I can show you our crystal

Your kitchen is BEAUTIFUL!! I think I chose the same handles as you (really hope they are exactly the same cuz I love them!)

i've been missing in action for a while as i had a family wedding in sydney and we stayed a few nights,

Im soooooooooooooooooo excited i cant sit still...
And our flooring is booked in for monday & tuesday so we will probably move next thursday or friday

Well i just went up to the house... eletricans were finishing up... cleaners were there cleaning yay!!!!
and the door handles have been put on.... except they are the wrong ones... i can only assume after getting the wrong doors and the wrong door handles that they are using the wrong door selection sheet lol...
the black grout has been done on the feature walls and the towel rails etc. have been installed...
also i just realised the living room wall colour that i posted earlier was just the tinted base coat lol... so now the wall colour has been done it looks fantastic... (i wondered why it looked more brown than the colour i picked)

Hi Renee, I know I've missed you cos you're now in the "black hole" with no internet!

But just wanted to pop by + say how gorgeous your home is looking. The flooring looks fantastic, such a beautiful rich colour..

You have really inspired me with that flooring. We will be going vinyl planks as well + yours are looking good.

All your selections have come together beautifully.

Hey guys,
well after all this time im finally back from the black hole

We are slowly getting settled in & now my morning sickness is gone i finally have some energy back yay..
im so sorry i dont have any pictures right now but i promise in the next few days i will make an effort to
get some on here... then i will add more as the decorating slowly gets done : )
our driveway is getting done this week THANK GOD!!!!!
im SO over the dirt and sand and worst of all mud : (
i've been cleaning the floors several times a day... a tip to everyone else... put weather strips on the bottom of your door asap lol
and my hubby and dad have been hard at it doing retaining walls and preparation for the decking... my parents are staying all week next week to do all the decking yay : )
i hope everyone else is well & your homes progressing... i will slowly catch up on everyones threads over the coming days...

Today has been the most miserable day of my life...
we actually have a swimming pool where our alfresco should be... we obviously have massive drainage issues.... isnt it there job to assess your block and do whats needed to make it livable... our dog almost drowned twice today : (
i've called masterton... they couldnt get hold of the drainage guy so our SS is coming out tomorrow to have a look... so they told us to do whatever we needed to do to get rid of most of the water as it was about to flood our house & they would replace anything that was destroyed so we had to open a stormwater pipe with a pick... its brought the water levels down to a point where it wont flood our house but im SOOOOOOOO not happy ::angry::

Oh my goodness Renee, that's just ridiculous! Yes, that's why we pay a fortune to have their stormwater engineers assess the land and design the stormwater systems!! Can't believe you were about to get flooded. No consolation to have Masterton offer to replace everything when you've just moved in... I hope they can fix it all up as soon as possible.

SS came out this morning and apparently its not their problem ::angry::

we just have to get our landscaping done ASAP and get our drainage in and cut the drains down to ground level so any future water can get to the stormwater drains.... and after all that they dont want to fix the pipe we had to smash to avoid flooding our house.... i've been out there all day 4 1/2 months pregnant in gumboots bucketing water out so it can dry up.... all i can say is NOT HAPPY JIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't realise that with the cut into the slope shown in your picture that you didn't have drainage.......water will always find itself to the lowest point-ergo, the bottom of that cut area aka your alfresco!

That's just terrible!! I am in shock!! This should be on A Current Affair!!!
This is terrible of Masterton. Come to think of it, my yard slopes down like that too and we havent cut retaining walls yet but will need to after handover, and how do I know this wont happen to me?? Do you need dish drains?? They are builders, they should know this stuff.

Sorry to hear and hope that it gets rectified. Keep us updated. I bet that's all you needed after waiting so long for your home, being pregnant and then having to go through this massive drama!!

I bet that has totally killed your decorating mood. I was SO looking forward to seeing your lovely new house all decorated up!

Hi Renee - for some reason I dropped off your thread too (and like the General Masterton thread, only realised today that I hadn't seen anything for a long while)... In one breath I was going to say CONGRATULATIONS about moving in then I read about the flood in your alfresco area. And being 4.5 months pregnant, I can imagine how exhausted / upset you would be. I hope you get it fixed soon... and the rain stops so you can do that! Good luck. And a reminder to us all behind you (that would be waaaayyy behind you in my case :))

, to get on with the landscaping ASAP after the build. (Especially as I was just saying to DH the other day we could postpone that part of it for a while. Um, maybe not after reading your post). Thanks for sharing. T
