Just wondering if anyone who attended the Aurora Community Association Annual General Meeting on Thursday could give us a quick run down of what was covered at the meeting. I'm most interested in whether there was any more info provided about Internet providers, but other general issues too. Thanks Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 647Aug 01, 2010 10:03 am oztish End of month again. 44kbps bandwidth tonight. I think that's a new crappy record! Damn - I completely forgot about the Comm. Assoc. meeting. Don't want to sound like a broken record but this is a joke and they need to be held accountable. I wouldn't put up with their excuses, time for the TIO to shake them up!! Stage: 12 Grebe, 4 Bedroom Aurora Estate, Epping North Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 648Aug 01, 2010 11:27 am Escort - this is what they've told me (in writing): Quote: Please note that at the end of the month, a common occurrence is a collective increase in downloading data, i.e, Arise customers are using up the last of their internet usage for the month. This increase in downloading data results in a flooding of the bandwidth which may cause periods of slow internet connection on the last day of the billing cycle. Unfortunately Arise does not have the control to avoid this from occurring, as we can’t effectively prevent customers from doing this. I think the people who we should all whinge to are VicUrban, who lauded to us the 'LIGHTNING FAST INTERNET'. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 649Aug 02, 2010 9:29 am Guys, does anyone living in Aurora have the foxtel HD channels? I've just had the foxtel guy come in an install, only to find out that the HD channels do not work. After hours on the phone with foxtel, I was told that the aurora estate does not receive the HD channels and that I would need to take it up with Arise as they maintain the network. HEnce does anyone successfully get the HD channels like Fox Sports 1 HD etc?? I know the rent in Sydney is expensive. I don't think its inefficency on their part, just the way they do it so when they start building they dont get bogged down with paperwork along the way. We are building a 4 bedroom called the Grebe which they are no longer displaying. They said that 4 months is average for a single story house. There is a building with Burbank forum if you'd like to join. I don't have the exact link but I'm sure you'll find it. Its also on the homeone forum website. There is also a facebook group. I'm pretty sure for a while when we had all the channels we got the HD ones too, but then we downgraded to the boring package and no longer get them. Do you have a satellite dish? or through the fibre optic. We have the fibre connection. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 655Aug 03, 2010 1:55 pm MOZ Hey Guys I am new here, and have signed a contract with timeless homes. Does any one know the best way to get in touch with them without waiting for hours? There's a joke about 'timeless' and 'waiting' in there somewhere... Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 656Aug 03, 2010 3:16 pm From our experience, we've found Timeless to be relatively quick to respond. We previously signed up with Simonds (back when Simonds was one of the available builders in Aurora) and they took over 3-4 days to respond to your emails if you are lucky. They almost never return your calls. That was one of the reasons why we didn't proceed with Simonds Timeless on the other hand will respond to your emails and 9 out of 10 times, and the admin girls always answer your call whenever you call them. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 657Aug 03, 2010 7:05 pm tortoise Nice house. I remember that was a design we wanted first but is slightly above budget... Congrats! We were going for the Corella at first but the corner blocks were all gone so we went with our second choice. We are very happy with the choice we made. We just got our plaster walls put in today, exactly 2 months after the slab was laid. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 658Aug 03, 2010 10:28 pm The trouble I am having is with the sales rep. Its been months since he returned my calls or email. I have to go to the display house everytime I wanna ask a question. Which usually involves waiting for a few hours. I was wondering if there was a better way people have had luck with. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 659Aug 04, 2010 6:43 pm A bit of trivia.... Did you know that Aurora is in Australia's most marginal electoral seat? The Liberal Party won this seat at the last election by 34 votes...so you'd think they'd be here making promises! Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 660Aug 04, 2010 6:59 pm oztish A bit of trivia.... Did you know that Aurora is in Australia's most marginal electoral seat? The Liberal Party won this seat at the last election by 34 votes...so you'd think they'd be here making promises! You're right there oztish. The thing to think about too is that Aurora is located right on the fringe of the seat (where the power lines are is the actual border of the division!) and the McEwen division covers a large rural area of Victoria - Gisbourne, Healesville, Marysville, Whittlesea, Kinglake, Seymour and everything in between. Chances are that the promises for this reason would be rural-orientated rather than urban-orientated; I doubt anything us Aurorarites would complain about would be listened to. Here's hoping that the divisions get rezoned and Aurora slips into the Scullin seats, which seems more logical to me. The setback from the kerb is 4m.
