House front Corinthian door with Timber stain -- Pics please

Not sure what you mean here - as all doors (I think?) are made from timber?
You can get a few different grades of door - cheapest I think is paint grade, and then you can also get stain grade, and I think you can also get 'raw timber' as well (which can just be varnished).

I have had my corinthian front door stained - I have attached a 'before' pic for you - I don't believe this is a 'stain grade' door as the painter wasn't happy with it...

Came up looking a million dollars - although it did take the painter an entire day to stain it! So it is possible to get a good result using a lower grade door, but it does take some effort (and subsequently the builder may charge $$$).

Oh and I think it would look okay without the glass, but maybe just get a pattern of some description in the door to stop it looking too plain.
