Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 114Apr 20, 2009 8:35 pm torourke1 Hi Carmel, I have a feeling that there will be an positive outcome next week, it's the wait that is a killer. T. Hi, I spoke with the administrator today and the feeling is that Westminster are likely to trade out of this based on the creditors vote on the 30th April. I was told that 8-9 Westminster staff have been terminated and the rest should be back after 30 days upaid leave all going well. I am hoping that business will resume and they will pick up where they left off. Practically speaking I am sure there will be some contractors who will refuse to come back as they have not been paid, or may only receive x% of monies outstanding, so they will be a lead time to find a new contractor. I hope this is the outcome.....fingers crossed. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 115Apr 20, 2009 9:07 pm Hi Marlton, I went in to Westminster's on the weekend and spoke to the salesperson that I had seen originally and he/she said that the big suppliers are ok with them trading out, but since it is a majority vote they don't know how the trades people and suppliers will react to the administrator's proposal. It seems that Westminster is owed large sums of money for work done for council's and the councils cannot pay. The banks will be looking at their balance sheet which apparently is not in the red if those debts are taken into consideration. I don't know how reliable this is but at the moment is is pointing towards the positive. I intend to go to the creditor's meeting and will report back as soon as I come back from it. T. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 116Apr 20, 2009 10:28 pm councils cannot pay, sounds a bit suss to me. They put out tenders for the work & then money is allocated to the project. More than likely they won't pay due to the standard of work performed. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 120Apr 21, 2009 8:12 am rosewood councils cannot pay, sounds a bit suss to me.
