Was the site manager's name R.S. he seemed very approchable. I am happy to hear that he was ok. It seems to be the luck of the draw with building unfortunately. Asics have released the minutes of the creditors on their website, I tried to buy them but got all muddled up and went in circles I wonder if we could get a copy without having to pay for them. Where are you building, we are building in Sth Turramurra. T. Hi T, No, we are building in the Hunter so have a different site manager, however I know R.S as he managed another site I was involved in and I thought he was good. I live in Turramurra so am just around the corner. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 107Apr 17, 2009 9:57 pm and as sorry as i am 2 say thats not the worst of it either we pulled them up on it as they were doing it which took about 5 to 6 months...many of times we rang and if we did get someone we were told they were aware of it and it would be ok that they would fix it thn whn we were sent the bill we refused 2 pay then they basically told us that if we didnt they'd take us to court so we asked for a written letter stating that they would fix it which we got but considering their current position and the fact that the day b4 they went into admin the new bricky they had trying 2 fix it had said the only way 2 fix it is 2 pull it down and start fresh but because most works r done on the inside (as they continued works) it would cause cracking and problems with the walls, tiling ect. we also had an inspection done so we knew the extent of the damage and it came back that the gutters were also non compliant which we would have had no idea about. how we ever let it get to this stage is beyond me nothing but headaches and problems write from planning i just had the bigger picture in mind my beautiful new home, huh what a joke! Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 109Apr 18, 2009 9:19 am yeah, I particularly like the one whr they have the right to adjourn the 2nd creditors meeting for up to 60days but they dont want 2 do it lol it sounds as though thr threatening us. AS owners you need to make sure you get your claim form into Lumleys. I Love the part of the presentation to Home owners that the owners have to support the company "You will get the Home you wanted for the price you wanted"......... Ask the administrator if the liquidated damges section of the contracts apply under a DOCA? Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 111Apr 20, 2009 2:15 pm Hi All, my hubby and I are up this creek as well. I wish I had known about this venue earlier. I was wigging out last week. Our house is 3 weeks from finished. There are so few things to be done that it is driving me nuts that we can't just take over and do it ourselves. I'm going to look into breaking the contract if the meeting on the 30th doesn't go well. Fingers crossed. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 114Apr 20, 2009 8:35 pm torourke1 Hi Carmel, I have a feeling that there will be an positive outcome next week, it's the wait that is a killer. T. Hi, I spoke with the administrator today and the feeling is that Westminster are likely to trade out of this based on the creditors vote on the 30th April. I was told that 8-9 Westminster staff have been terminated and the rest should be back after 30 days upaid leave all going well. I am hoping that business will resume and they will pick up where they left off. Practically speaking I am sure there will be some contractors who will refuse to come back as they have not been paid, or may only receive x% of monies outstanding, so they will be a lead time to find a new contractor. I hope this is the outcome.....fingers crossed. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 115Apr 20, 2009 9:07 pm Hi Marlton, I went in to Westminster's on the weekend and spoke to the salesperson that I had seen originally and he/she said that the big suppliers are ok with them trading out, but since it is a majority vote they don't know how the trades people and suppliers will react to the administrator's proposal. It seems that Westminster is owed large sums of money for work done for council's and the councils cannot pay. The banks will be looking at their balance sheet which apparently is not in the red if those debts are taken into consideration. I don't know how reliable this is but at the moment is is pointing towards the positive. I intend to go to the creditor's meeting and will report back as soon as I come back from it. T. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 116Apr 20, 2009 10:28 pm councils cannot pay, sounds a bit suss to me. They put out tenders for the work & then money is allocated to the project. More than likely they won't pay due to the standard of work performed. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 120Apr 21, 2009 8:12 am rosewood councils cannot pay, sounds a bit suss to me.
