Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 30, 2021 3:39 pm Calling all happy new home owners in Melbourne's west, I hope to be building in the Geelong City Council LGA this time next year and I want to know which builders have lived up to their claims, kept their word, timetable, high standards etc. Would also love to hear from anyone who felt they got lucky with a particularly great site supervisor, or another builder rep involved in the process who did a great job. I realise it's highly unlikely to get to choose who will be working on my site, and a lot may change between now and when my build happens in 12 months time, but knowledge is power. Feel free to PM me names if you'd rather not post publicly. Thanks! Re: [VIC] First Home Buyer Seeks Eligible Builder 2Aug 31, 2021 5:27 pm Hello there. I currently live Geelong too. With my experience (with Volume builders), I consider the customer service to be of most importance. Sherridan Homes from 5 years ago were utterly hopeless, and their 1800 number did not work. Burbank was another shocker but not as bad. I’m building with Simonds now - so far so good, and my dad also had a good experience with them a couple of years after his build. Not much in this responce. My suggestion is, what are you looking to build and why. This will all be impacted by the local councils planning scheme.
