Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 27, 2020 12:10 pm Hey guys, Here's a picture of the two: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I like the idea of a space-saving European Laundry, but where am I going to put the laundry basket? And if it's right beside the TV in a cupboard, won't the noise override the TV? Thoughts? Which is better in this instance; a bigger bathroom or a bigger laundry? Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 2May 27, 2020 7:32 pm I'd prefer a euro laundry. I don't use a basket, and I only do one load a week though. It really depends on your circumstances Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 3May 27, 2020 11:37 pm No basket? How do you take it from the washing machine to the clothes line? Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 4May 27, 2020 11:40 pm My clothes line has always been right next to the laundry so I’ve never needed one, and when I take the clean dry clothes upstairs I just pile them up and carry them Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 5May 28, 2020 12:04 am How far away is the clothesline from the laundry? You're taking them one at a time out and going back and forth between the clothesline? Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 6May 28, 2020 12:10 am Hm. Maybe two meters distance, 2.5 max. I’ve always just piled them up on my shoulder and done like 6 garments at a time. I have a small amount of washing compared to what everyone else seems to do though, so maybe not the best example. If you have a large/frequent wash schedule then it might not be right. My laundry is quite small and every house I’ve rented has had small laundry’s and never had a problem. However I complain every day that my bathroom is too small haha Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 7May 28, 2020 12:24 am It sounds like it will be a pain in the ... to do it without a basket. My clothesline will be somewhere in the backyard, so it'll probably be much more than 2 metres. And also up and down a couple of steps as well. Yeah, it's for a 4 bedroom home. Then again, a smaller bathroom might not be great. So, I don't know. Re: European Laundry cupboard vs Full Laundry? 8May 28, 2020 1:32 am Wouldn't it be nice if we could see into the future? Or see pathways into the future. You could see which one had the most regret, the smaller laundry or the smaller bathroom. Like the spacing guild of Dune. Where they would see beforehand if a jump was going to crash into a star or something.
