Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 20, 2020 6:31 am Hi all - hoping someone has some colours advice for me!! I need to choose by tomorrow... We are building a hamptons facade home (Clarendon boston 36 - see image below that someone else previously uploaded... mine will be austral silverbirch brick on the bottom and light grey cladding ontop) and I want the aluminum window frames to be Pearl White to suit the interior colours (internal walls painted Surfmist and trims Crisp White... so don't want to do window frames surfmist as its really obviously a match to the walls not the trims) On the outside i was thinking to do Alpine Snow trims and front pillars, and I will have surfmist garage door, gutters, and fascias as that's the lightest you can go. I chose Alpine Snow as it seems kind of half way between the white of the windows and the surfmist of the gutters... i also didn't want to go too white because it may look really stark and bright as the facade has really big pillars. So far I think those colours should work ok, but the issue is the front aluminium balcony railings. If i do them bright white like the windows i think they will stand out too much against the Alpine Snow as they will be bright glossy white .... but if i do them surfmist will they look too grubby and dark? Hoping someone has some insight as this is driving me nuts and I need to lock in my colours tomorrow!! Or vice versa We had the same issue as we were only allocated one colour choice, but I feel like the shade difference would be more obvious on the front facade between the stark white window frames, trims and door. Surfmist looks lovely when all tied in together but paired with a much brighter white I feel it looks a little off. Re: Exterior trim colours - meltdown over shades of white an 4Jan 20, 2020 9:49 am Thanks aandsc - Im thinking maybe I should just change the window frames to surfmist., then just do all trims and everything outside surfmist as well. The reason I thought it looked off inside is because the walls are surfmist, then you have a white trim, then you have surfmist again for the doors/window frames - so your eye sees the frame as clearly matching the wall..... however i DO prefer the matt to the gloss.... TBH they have surmist walls and white trim and surfmist windows at the Sheridan 36 display at warriewood - just thought that white would have looked better. Also they have slightly darker cladding so again I thought that outside my pillars etc would look better to be a bit lighter....but perhaps not if its going to mean a million different whites all next to each other? 7 3006 Hi all, I am currently building through Simmonds and stuck deciding on my exterior cement roof titles and brick colours.
