Building with PD Homes, Recommendations?

No home builder (Porter Davis, Metricon, Coral, etc) actually builds anything. It ALL depends on the person who is actually building the house - that is the BUILDER contracted by Porter Davis to construct the home. Porter Davis have a bunch of house plans and some site supervisors - they do not employ any builders, merely contract them to do a job.

So with that in mind, they are all totally the same, except for the house plans themselves. One may pay the builder and trades a bit more, a bit less, that would be the only difference.

We have site start booked in a week and its been a total of 5 months of delay which we've been told isn't so bad. We went through PD and Carlisle all the way to Tender and our experience with both was like chalk and cheese. PD was filled with frustration, many issues mistakes, corrections and disappointments and other was simply very easy and smooth. We took a leap of faith and signed Tender with PD as we were completely in love with the floorpan. 2 days after signing our BC changed, she's just amazing and our experience did a total turnaround.

Just keep on top of everyone and communicate constantly with your BC and put up a fight if they are wrong. It'l be worth it!
