Porter Davis Electrical and outsourcing!!??

Hi guys,

We aren't quite at the world of style stage yet but expect to in the next 2 months or so. I'm hearing a lot of murmurs that the PD electrical is quite expensive and wanted to check a few people's opinions.

Someone has been kind enough to show me their electrical quote from PD and the downlights are $130 each! I'm wondering if anyone has gotten a quote to have "provisioning" done for downlights and then source this somewhere else (we have a cheap electrician that we trust). What was the provisioning cost?


Also, what sort of prices have PD quoted you for home security (2 story house)?

Finally, how is pricing for running cabling + data ports? I feel like this is an area PD will try to rip people off who don't know any better.
