Pretty sure that was a mistake because they were listed as an upgrade in the display. A small win perhaps? https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tiling 1166Oct 19, 2017 9:44 pm aloenyx Just love everything!! Our house was sometimes unlocked & we would be the ones locking it on our way out! I’d be excited that I could get in but also cause anyone could have walked in & taken things Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tiling 1171Oct 20, 2017 8:41 am yarraland Hi bank! I just found your thread. House is looking amazing! And those tiles wowww. I think I have the same tiles as your main one, what are yours called? Thanks! They are Axis white lappato from Beaumonts, with misty grey grout. In terms of darkness they fell right between magellan (darker) and misty (lighter), there was also a browner grout that was a closer match but we didn't want to go any more towards the brown. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tiling 1172Oct 22, 2017 9:23 pm Bank, I like the grey grout and dont think it looks bad- I think a brown would have looked worse haha. Looking very nice, almost like a display home cant wait till they are all shiny and clean! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tiling 1174Oct 24, 2017 1:32 pm So we caved yesterday and left a message that we wanted an update (we were trying to hold out to see how long it would take), and Hubby got a call back first thing this morning. He had a long conversation with SS with seemingly little info gained . SS wanted us to have a walk through this week so we can see what has been done and we wanted to get blind measure done so we have managed to get that teed up for Friday. He also mentioned a pre PCI walk through before their inspector goes through, hubby is convinced that that was another separate walk through, I'm not so convinced, based on his timeline this could be it. He is still quite convinced that everything is under control and he will meet the contract date ( that's 4 1/2 weeks away), when pushed if he means PCI by then or keys he said he'll sit down and look at our schedule this afternoon and get back to us . What we did learn: -Bath should be polished by now (it's not but didn't tell him, not our prob). -Plumbers should be there later this week (hubby reminded him about the hole for the butlers tap which he had seemed to have forgotten). -Lights will be changed but didn't know when. -Rangehood cupboard is happening, again didn't know when. -Bin hasn't been emptied because Eco waste don't want to pick it up until the driveway is done. Meanwhile it is over flowing (has been for at least a month) and there is a stockpile of rubbish just as big in the garage. -Concretor is going to come and look at driveway today. -Doors won't be replaced until the VERY end (he used to say NEAR the end) not sure how that works with paint. I think we will be painting on PCI day like emts. -Carpet is going in next Thursday. What we have worked out for ourselves: -No one was onsite Friday, we have more jobs left than days so hopefully we don't see too much more of this. -Laundry bulkhead was done yesterday. -Mirror, splashback etc was measured yesterday and the note on the wall this time says it's all complete with a smiley face . -Almost all of the plumbing that was delivered and not fixed in place has grown legs and walked . We had a tiny hope that they had just borrowed it for another job that was actually ready for plumbing, but yesterday it dawned on us that the butlers sink is also gone and that was a special order, not a standard offering by kings, so that pretty much confirms some thieving bastard has our stuff. Hopefully SS knows has re-ordered and this won't hold things up. Knowing our luck, I'm doubtful. -There is a dude working there today, looked like he was doing robes or linen shelves. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tiling 1175Oct 24, 2017 6:54 pm Robes and linens were all done today. And to keep the trend going... not correctly 🤦♀️. We made a huge point of telling our SS that he needed to tell the relevant trade that the linens and master weren't standard so CHECK THE PLANS! We did a whole song and dance about how none of the trades read the plans and literally everything has had a mistake and he happily took it on board, made notes and took photos of the plans. Somehow they got the master right but the linens are standard 🤦♀️. Maybe I should have made a sign and stuck it to the wall "READ THE PLANS". Anyway he left the back door wide open this time so courtesy of another careless trade I have pics: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Already checked out new handles at bunnings so that they match the rest in the house, I'm sure eBay will be cheaper though Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bath was polished today, I'm less than convinced . Despite us getting a phone call this morning to confirm which fans went where, they have put the larger fans in the smaller rooms 🤦♀️. One of the light covers has been smashed and one light hasn't been wired to a switch. I'm out of words, I can't even... https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tiling 1179Oct 27, 2017 9:01 am The mind boggles! How is it possible that we have had so many mistakes?! Today's walk through should be interesting. It's the plumbers turn today, I wonder what their mistake will be? Hopefully the tap heights, ensuite shower drain and island plumbing position is it! Still no hole for the butlers tap and most of the sinks and basins are missing so i won't be surprised if they turn around and go home. JG King modified Heywood - Robes 1180Oct 27, 2017 4:56 pm I've just fried my brain picking curtain fabric so the walk through feels like a distant memory now. It went fine, I think. Turned into a bit of a pre pre PCI. He wanted to get as many issues noted down as possible, then right after he says he has to leave he decides he'll get the blue tape out , should have just done that from the start instead of noting down individual window scratches . So we have our first few blue dots! Only thing I feel uneasy about it the bath. He opened with "its like brand new", standard mind trick stuff. It's not like new, far from it. He said he would replace it if I wanted but a new one would likely have scratches anyway. It was all said and done in a way that made me feel like I was being a picky pain in the bum. So I just kind of left it. He mentioned meeting again next week so I might revisit it and take a rag to clean up the dust so I can make my point better. Linens will have to be redone, fans will be swapped around and a few other electrical things dealt with. Turns out they don't use the brick cleaner that did ours anymore due to his not so great workmanship. I've been banging on about how he ruined the dark brick mortar for months, it has finally been written down as an issue! After about ten times raising the plaster issues and more of the skirts he is finally listening and will get them looked at. This may push the carpet back which is meant to be next week, but he was in two minds so not sure. Plumbers were a no show today . Turns out they took the basins and stuff back to their office, I was hoping this might be the case. SS also thought the same as us that they may have been borrowed until he saw the butlers sink was gone then he was sure they had been pinched . Timeline wise he is still thinking handover by the end of November ! I gave him the you're crazy man look but he is quite adamant that when he sets himself a goal he tries to stick to it. I will be amazed if it happens! We still have so much to do and fix! PCI around then is far more realistic. I think basically everything is booked but he has no definite dates, it's just up to the trades when they want to show up. He thought painters were going to be there to do outside yesterday but nope. Didn't take many photos today, nothing new really, I was looking forward to plumbing. Basically went a light plain blockout roller that was close to the paint colour, doesn't look it in the photo but it was darker and the only one that was the right tone. Didn't really consider textured ones because we're having the sheers as well. The tiles ate half my curtain budget so for now we're just doing the master sheer, s-fold from ceiling, and will add them to the family/dining when funds allow. Minor bedrooms and living will be double rollers. Went with a dark charcoal that matched the window frames for the sunscreen part of the double rollers. Really unsure about this with the light blockout, but the idea is that it disappears far more than a light colour. This was the guys recommendation and it made sense at the time. It's hard with the paint being not quite right for the tiles.
