Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Wincrest Homes in Adminstration 115Feb 04, 2009 6:03 pm I spoke to Martin from Jones Partne earlier this week and he said Home Owners are welcomed to come to the 9:15 meeting if they want to - he said it's just gonna be a bit technical and academic (thinking maybe a humble housewife like me would not understand a thing).
I will come early next Tuesday and I think it would be a good idea if all of us Home Owners can meet up and compare notes on what's going on. Re: Wincrest Homes in Adminstration 116Feb 04, 2009 8:05 pm I posted this elsewhere, but here it is again:
Just an idea ... I've made this little card that you can print out and wear at the meeting so we can all find each other. You just need to write your name on it. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It will fit in those plastic name tag thingys you get at the newsagent. Judie Meeting 117Feb 04, 2009 8:12 pm Mambie is correct, and its good to note that we should all get there early, it says 20minutes early, im thinking there will be a huge turnout and probably better to get there 30minutes early, had the same experience with Beechwood Homes awhile ago, and just waiting in the que to register took a while, then getting a seat closer to the front, so you can actually hear whats going on.
I called Jones Partners and they were really helpful, apparently some people can attend both, they are people who paid the deposit but the developments haven't started yet. I suggest you also read the fine print of your contracts, and contact Vero Home Warranty Insurance (although no claim will be processed when in Administation, only if it goes into Liquidation-its a waiting game) if your home is at a stage of development, but im sure the Administrators will help us through. Fingers crossed hey. Re: Wincrest Homes in Adminstration 119Feb 04, 2009 10:29 pm Hi everyone,
I am also unfortunately one of the home owners caught up in the Wincrest chaos. My house is about 70% completed so I'm really hoping this is just a temporary hiatus and construction work will start up soon. I spoke to Sandra from Jones partners today, who was quite helpful and kindly explained to me what was to be expected over the next few weeks. She also confirm Scapemates comment earlier about the 2 meetings to be held next Tues. The 9.15 meeting is for the trade suppliers and for customers who have put down deposits but no construction work has been started and the 11.00 meeting is for homeowners like me who have construction work started but not finished. Those customers who have put down deposits are also welcome to sit in on the 11am meeting. She also explain what was expected to occur in the near future so I thought this might be useful for other readers in this situation f they don't know this already: - The directors are intending on putting a proposal togethr to deal with the outstanding debts of the company. The administrators have not been given these details yet but will be letting all creditors know once these details have been recieved in a form of a report. This repot will be issued about 1 week before the 2nd creditors meeting. - The proposal will be presented to creditors to vote for at the 2nd creditors meeting (expected to occur in about one month) and creditors can either vote for or against the proposal. whether or not the proposal is accepted will depend on the support of the bank and of the majority of creditors. - If proposal is accepted by creditors, control of the company will be given back to the directors and the business will continue to run (which means construction work will restart again *fingers crossed this happens*) - if proposal is rejected, then most likely company will go into liquidation. This will be bad news because the business will not be continuing on. She said that there is no need to panic because they are trying to help the directors get business get back on track and they are hoping that the proposal will be accepted by creditors. I guess for now, we just have to be patient and ride it out. Hope this helps. Re: Wincrest Homes in Adminstration 120Feb 05, 2009 5:23 am oreo Is there a website where you can check the financial status of builder? If there is none, we should have one at least people will know which builder to avoid. To check the Builder’s suitability for your particular building project, you can: Check with the Building Services Authority (BSA) regarding the Builders license, any building restrictions, financial status and building record. Obtain a list of previous clients who have had similar projects carried out by the builder, and with their permission, inspect the quality of his work. If possible, talk to the previous clients about the builder’s work ethic, construction knowledge, site management and cost control. Obtain a short list of referees such as an Accountant, Bank Manager or Solicitor, to verify the Builder’s credentials Signed and handed over deposit to Wincrest homes on 26th.
