Regards the internal painting , anyone has upgraded it to Dulux "Wash & Wear" (apparently the std one is Dulux "Professional" )

The cost is around 900$ (for double story) , is this upgrade worth the money?

Ours was only about $500, but we are a single story. I haven't had any marks that I've had to clean off yet, so not sure how to judge but we thought it was worth it.

If u have a sales consultant they can do a geo site of the house u want on your block. They'll send u the link then u can play around with colours

When we tried the Geosite it was quite buggy and very blocky. Hope the software has improved

Is anyone building with Metricon in SA? Particularly the Chicago or the Milan? Does anyone have any price lists for Adelaide?

we're doing a Glendale39 in Adelaide, don't have price lists specifically for those designs but may be able to give you an idea for general upgrades, etc?

Dear All,

Please be aware that Long Island Homes have placed in their contract a clause that states:

The home owner is only allowed to use a Licensed Private Inspector.

There is no current License for a Private Inspectors. Jeff Kennett removed it from the Act in 1996.

The Inspectors they are referring to in the contract are Building Inspectors that look at Mandatory Items only.

Section 240 of the Building Act states that you can appoint who you wish. They cannot contract out of this Act and all persons considering building with this company should be aware of the builders reasons.

Darbecca has been holding Long Island Homes Accountable for their builds since Long Island Homes started.

In the past we have been contacted by the Director of Long Island Homes (Danny) to assist him with a quality QA process. Darbecca has refused based on the fact that we only assist home owners. Darbecca wants no conflict of interest as our home owners have always been our priority.

Clearly Long Island Homes do not want companies like Darbecca to review their works.

What have you got to hide Long Island Homes?

Anybody looking to build with this builder can contact me at darren@darbecca.com.au and I will send you a report done on one of their homes. See what they are trying to stop us finding.

Thought I'd update on this home were monitoring from the SS we have been assigned so they started mid feb and are up to this stage now.
So much progress

but looks to be one of the more simpler homes to build.

I got a Studio M book said "$1,810" , but it is quite dated , not sure whether the upgrade price has changed then

seems the cost is ILO the "caobo" timber looking door (which is $890 in VIC) , expensive :shock:

but wish it worth it

Haven't heard a single thing from M for 2 months (but not complaining) but I'm pretty sure they'll be contacting us ASAP once we expire

No not yet leelee will be delayed due to weather but great news though our stages 1 & 2 titled today, we are stage 3, so exciting times ahead
