Did you have to chase them up to get that credit or did they do it automatically? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4249May 20, 2016 12:17 pm Our good luck has come to an end... Our supervisor walked out on Tuesday so our new one starts on Tuesday but he needs to go through inductions first before he can actually start on site. The guy who rang to notify told me straight up that our build will be delayed as our SS was a little slack and didn't get anything fixed that he was supposed to and nothing further has been booked in. The painters cant paint any further as the plastering is really bad so parts need to be redone. The guy promised he would get everything booked in asap. YAY. What great news. So close but so far Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4250May 20, 2016 12:19 pm Oh no what a shame. Hopefully this new ss gets you back on track asap Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4251May 20, 2016 4:28 pm Oh no firstbuild that's terrible. I'm so sorry to hear that. That's my biggest fear. I'm just waiting for our SS to get fed up too and jump! I really hope they can get you back on track soon as possible C U S T O M. C O R A L. Hopefully your new guy will hasten it along again. Best of luck. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4253May 21, 2016 9:51 pm Just popping in to warn anyone considering Coral Homes to steer well clear! Utter bunch of w*nkers, and that's putting things politely. If you fancy having the worst year of your life then go for it, build with Coral Homes! I'm still recovering mentally and physically from the ordeal. Plain and simple: RUN AWAY. DON'T STOP. DON'T LOOK BACK. KEEP RUNNING. FORGET YOU EVER HEARD OF CORAL F*CKING HOMES. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4254May 21, 2016 10:11 pm Thats a shame Firstbuild92, You cant blame the SS in leaving though, if Coral Homes treat them anywhere near as bad as they treat us, paying customer's, you can totally understand why they leave. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4255May 21, 2016 10:34 pm Hi all, I really feel I need to put in my two cents worth on the forum with Coral Homes. When choosing a builder I trawled these forums and took what others had said extremely seriously when making our decision. At the time Coral were pretty on par with comments compared to other builders. I know many many people at the moment are having an extremely bad time with Coral and I do understand your need to vent and please don't stop because your voice should be heard. But having said that, there are no where near enough people giving Coral the praise they do deserve when a job is well done. I'm the first to say our build has not been perfect (our render has just been painted wrong), but it was a blessing as we actually like it better now hahaha!! But having said that, our build has been absolutely amazing! We have had an amazing SS, yes he isn't the biggest communicator, but let's face it, he's a builder and that's what we want him to focus on! We get regular updates and keeps us in the loop when required! As for the house itself, we could not be happier!! We aren't finished yet but we are so happy with everything from Coral. Our build is on track to be within contract period and that's all we could hope for. Yes Head Office is a drag but friends of ours building with MJH are having just as many dramas as we all did! My point is, all builders have issues and I feel this forum isn't voicing enough of the positives that Coral have going for them. For people considering Coral Homes, yes there are problems but there are also great builds going on so please bare this in mind. For the people in early stages of their builds, please do not loose your will to live just yet, once the ball gets rolling it will fly by and my best advise is to try and enjoy every minute of it! Try not to be disheartened if little things go wrong, address them with your SS and try to move on! Focus on the little things that go right!! For most of us this experience may be once in a lifetime so don't let your builder ruin it, no matter who they are! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4256May 21, 2016 10:55 pm Hi Lexie85, I hope your build is going well, but we dont all have the same experience. So for those that have a good run, good on them, but this is the Coral Homes build thread, so people vent about them in here. And they have the right to. But people also put good things up about them in here and I have read them. People need to vent with other people that are having the same experience, as they understand what their going through. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4257May 21, 2016 11:24 pm I definitely hear you still waiting and please do not take my post as anything negative towards people having problems like yours. I hate that there are so many people having issues and I really do hope they get it sorted for everyone. As I said, your voice should be heard and please don't stop! I feel for everyone having trying times, MrsJM and defdaz are just to name a few. My post was purely to give a different opinion for others looking on the forum or considering Coral Homes that there are other builds going ok, that's all Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4258May 22, 2016 10:21 am I would agree with Lexie. i've read very similar bad comments about many other builders. Their customers also have a right to vent. When so much hard earned money is at stake, of course those huge mistakes just should not happen. Builders are supposed to be professionals. In our own build, several mistakes have been made. In each case the SS has fixed them up straight away. That is how a professional works. Perhaps this is why Coral has had such a big turnover of staff. They have been weeding out some of the problem makers. (Note, I say some, not all.) So far our build has been wonderful, quick and exciting. If we encounter major problems further down the track, of course I'll scream, the same as others on this forum. No one deserves to have a long dreadful experience. Until then, we'd have to say Coral has been good to build with. We love our design, progress has been swift and we are on track timewise. I would hate people to be put off Coral by reading only negative comments. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 4259May 22, 2016 10:54 am Glad to here that some are actually having a positive experience. At the end of the day it mostly comes down to the SS. If he is reasonably competent and not overloaded with overseeing to many builds, things should in theory go ok... after all these are project homes. Unfortunately ours has been a 14 month disaster that will come to an end next Friday. If he is reasonably competent and not overloaded with overseeing to many builds, things should in theory go ok... after all these are project homes. Unfortunately ours has been a 14 month disaster that will come to an end next Friday. I think it also comes down to the home owner as well. Make sure the plans are right, make sure the paperwork is right and inspect the build. MrsJm is on the right track with ensuring everything is right, as the home owner you need to be in top of it. The SS also needs to be right as well however Defdaz and I had the same SS however it seems our build experiences were vastly different. I have no gripes over our build, 1 thing was missed but it was a 'want' not a 'need' item so we let it slide. Would I recommend Coral? Based on our experience then yes. Remember a happy customer will tell on average 2 people however a dissatisfied customer will tell 11 so I think in this thread the people having a a bad time overall are more vocal then those that aren't. You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14665 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 15037 Hi so sorry for the late reply. I already contacted them and they wouldn't tell me instead they tried to get me to talk to one of their home coordinators and I'm not… 2 6149 |
