How long is it usually between PCI and getting the keys ?

That all depends on what PCI shows that needs to be done, and how quickly the SS organises it. For us, it was only a week, but that seems to be quick compared to some on here. Plus, our PCI was only 8 days before xmas shutdown, so they seemed to be trying to get us over the line before they finished.

J+H - I've got no idea what size our Elite ended up being after the alfresco. I originally only wanted a 34sq house but hubby wanted bigger. He doesn't have to clean it though :/

Some of the frame was delivered today. I can't help but drive past at least once a day when I'm either dropping our kids to school or picking them up. Our block is on the same street

That 2 story on the right side 2 blocks down is a Beechwood house that hasn't had any work done on it for weeks.

I wonder how long our frame will sit there for!

We started with a 36 then went to the grande then went to the 41. I changed the floor plan internally in all of them and our cheapest option was the 41. Externally nothing different except alfresco so can't see why our SS says it's a logistical nightmare. I'm over it, we are already discussing selling after a year. If I had my way I'd sell as soon as its complete with landscaping and buy something else. The build just had so much negativity attached to it but hubby said live in it for a year. (Then I'll probably love it and won't want to move) I'll never recommend M or build with them again though.

Bleaky I can not believe they are not responding well actually I should say I am not surprised it took our CC 4 weeks to respond to one of my last emails.
J+H we are building the Villinas 41 with Alfresco and savoy facade also, you have probably already said but what area?
We currently sit at day 203 of our 225 day contract (includes Christmas & rain delays) and we have the fittings guys still finishing our skirting the last confirmed date for end of contract from our CC was 5/5. I feel your frustration I think you need to keep pushing them.

J+H - M agreed to build your house. If it was going to be such a logistical nightmare then they shouldn't have signed you up as a client. I keep telling my hubby that I already hate the house. And that I cant believe we are spending so much money on it. We changed the Elite floor plan a bit. We changed the kitchen and added a WIP which was a nightmare for M to draw on the plans. I reckon they are going to stuff up the kitchen when they build it. I also changed the ensuite, took out the bath and made an extra big double head shower. We also changed some windows, added a sliding door to the theatre room plus we added one to separate the great room from the rest of the bottom floor.

SVE no work yesterday and today. Although SS3 and I took a walk through together today. He seems the best of the three we have based on communication and demeanour alone. I hope he gets the trades on quickly.

I did call Dons today and geez their customer service is strange. I realised they had our extra tiles going to the build not our current house so needed to fix that. Also tried to see when these tiles would be coming in...we ordered them in Feb so I'm assuming the same time as the tiles Masterton ordered...I just hope they don't balls that up and I've paid $900 on tiles that go missing

J+H I understand, I don't know how one company attracts so much incompetence. We are the same as WKVillina, contract is up in exactly 4 weeks and there is still a lot to do.

Dons let us change another tile for free because one tile became unavailable. Should be ok...

Far out I can't wait for this to end...they really need to pick up their game as I'm going to be rather ruthless in my review if things don't change

WKvillina I would loooove to see pics! Nice to hear someone else is building the same. Wow you don't have long left in your contract. Hope they get it done. I've pushed as much as I can, they just forward my email requests for info to the SS and 9/10 times I don't hear from him. I give up, they have well and truly beaten me. It doesn't surprise me your CC took so long, i have nothing against young people but 20 something year olds do not give a ....... if you don't get an answer on Friday. They go live their life having never had the crap that comes with poor communication from a builder so don't see what a huge impact that had on customer satisfaction. Our admin girl cost us an extra 6 weeks in council!

S-VE Great minds, we also added a WIP behind the kitchen and changed the upstairs layout taking out the ensuite bath, door to separate the front of the house from the great room.

J+H, sure they won't/can't charge u for repicking the tiles!!! Hopefully u will find something do match and get them tiled soon. Fingers cross for u!!!

I have to say J+H they are too young to be dealing with these builds I got the same feeling in preconstruction there was a no care attitude I could be in tears and there would be no response. Building this house has been the hardest thing emotionally/mentally I have dealt with and now we are on to SS number 3 I hope this one is better then the last 2 our first SS actually told us he was planning on doing a Christmas handover haha.

We still have a rather extensive list of things to complete, they have finished our window frames and skirting upstairs but as you can expect with M another mistake, we paid extra for noggins so they could tack our lower floor skirting (we are doing our flooring after handover) but this never happened cutting and installing the skirting is not something we wanted or think we should have to do not sure what they will do the previous SS said he would get them back to finish after handover but now that he has gone we think he was just telling us anything.

Thank you VillinaElite2016 we used pepper. The brick company should be able to give you addresses where the brick has been used so you can see what it looks like on a completed house...

WKVillina- I can believe it. What's a lousy 10% when they have most our money already. Today we didn't even get the 5.00 email. We have so little to be done but no trades on site.
Hoping SS3 gets your build cracking.
Your pics look great, that alfresco is huge! What size is it?

VillinaElite2016- love concord. I'm sure it will look great!

MGardz- I'm sure I've used up all the bad dons luck. Your tiles will be fine.

WKVillina that looks awesome! I can't wait till we have walls up so I can see the rooms! On the plus our electrical rough in and aircon tubes were done today apparently (neighbour told me). Hopefully gyprock in the next month so we can get to lock up. We have about 3 smashed windows which need to be replaced, and our back six panel sliding door has a big cut/bend in it so it can't close. Hopefully they fix that soon. Hahahah as if! WKVillina thank you so much for sharing the photos, makes me excited about an end result!

Everyone feel free to inbox me your bathroom pics, our inspiration is resort style warm tones, I am trying to get a sense of a day spa and want anyone visiting to feel instantly relaxed in our home. Our floor tiles were Pedra.

Hi Brooke
I'm new to this thread and my husband and I are planning to build a Charmhaven Elite with M also. We are building down at Calderwood valley and our land dosnt register until next year.
I'm finding it frustrating that there is no display home or 3D image of the Charmhaven Elite so we can only visualise it from the plans. I'd love to see more photos of your house and any recommendations you can give for customising the plans that have worked for you guys.

I know what you mean Bleaky, did you sign off on PCI or are they still paying the liquidated damages. I checked my email at 5.00 to and no response, we got a reminder about paying the roof and lock up claim which we are not paying until it's done but you guessed it again no response from today's email no response from Friday's either I hope they get things done for you Bleaky, it's like the frustration never ends. The alfresco is 7 x 5sqm.
J+H to give you an idea we had our electrical rough in 12/2 and aircon 1/3 then gyprock started 14/3 so hopefully it won't be to long. Our sliding doors are still not on and are broken and damaged they even have foot prints on the glass where the tradies have walked on them. Our balcony door frame was damaged on delivery but they still installed it as the last SS thinks it can be repaired, I don't think so you will be replacing it.
