Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1322Nov 10, 2015 5:28 pm Great news Loks! EK1976 Can't see how they could hand over 48 hours after laying driveway as it takes a week to walk/drive on then they have to seal it plus get it certified. Think your SS might be Pinocchio. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1324Nov 10, 2015 5:53 pm Yeah I agree with you big mama and loks, also I have a big list of things I want fixed before I pay the pract completion and final invoice as they issued it yesterday, I told them I won't forward to bank until things are completed. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1326Nov 10, 2015 8:16 pm If you don't mind me asking.... Are these 'big lists' that need to be completed, major things or just many minor things like paint touch ups etc? Oh and no one onsite this week yet as the brickies went to another property last week while our upper scaffolding was put up and it rained last week so I'm guessing they are now behind there too. It really sucks that the scaffolding took one day but we may now have no brick work done for the next two or three weeks!! More delays Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1328Nov 11, 2015 4:03 pm I want to absolutely SCREAM!!! This will be the third time they have scheduled a final walk through with work still not finished. Now they have the audacity to ask us to make the final payment for handover and they said they will finish the jobs after we move in! What the... I am at my wit's end. Wish they would put all this effort into just completing everything. Not a nice way to be finishing this journey. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1329Nov 11, 2015 4:49 pm after you move in??????????? sure they will.... what sort of leverage do you have if you've handed over payment, pretty much none, if they can't manage to get it done before they get paid I'd say you've got buckley's of getting it done after. Big Mama this is a disgrace. Poor poor poor. Scream away, I say you are more than justified Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1331Nov 12, 2015 5:07 pm Oh my gosh big mama, you must be so frustrated!!!! What excuses are they giving to why they can't get everything done before handover? I agree with Loks, you will have no leverage if you move in without it all being fixed but it's so close to Xmas that it would just as frustrating watching your beautiful house sit there while everyone is on holidays Guess what??? We have another SS, yep our 4th for the build so far and we don't even have walls up yet!!!! Hopefully we get to keep this one LOL Bricks were delivered today! possibly some bricky action next week. Oh and a few un answered emails about the retaining wall, go figure! Building with Kurmond Homes 1335Nov 12, 2015 8:01 pm Well my handover is pushed out til next Friday by my choice as things needed to be replaced and I want it on there time and not mine...+clean up lol... I want my house 100% when I get it. Driveway was completed yesterday, site clean up today and I met with SS to go over everything to be completed, even though I want my house yesteryear...its looking beautiful Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1337Nov 16, 2015 6:24 am Big Mama, sorry to hear you still have incomplete items and delays. I know some earlier posters moved in with some things unfinished (driveway is one I recall) but it is understandable if you don't want to risk it. I think it depends on how well your SS has met expectations to date. Loks, fingers crossed for Friday! Hope your new house is perfect for you. Ek, your kitchen is looking good. Ses, I am amazed you keep getting new site supervisors. While it is good to have a basis for comparison, it must be very frustrating. Hope the new one is good. Did you sort out your frame inspection? Quach, well at least gutters is some movement. We are progressing pretty well. Had PCI last week and hoping for handover next week. Still need our splashback and driveway in and some other jobs but we can see they have already done some of the more major items, which is good. We would consider moving in with some outstanding (cosmetic) jobs as they don't do appliances until post handover anyway and our SS has been very good. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1338Nov 17, 2015 5:59 pm so internal clean happened Saturday, a week later than we were advised. Aside from that nothing has happened for a week now. How hard can it be to finish off, need carpets, fly screens, a driveway and a bit of painting. Very frustrating, PCI was supposed to be yesterday, didn't happen, no contact as usual. I am about to become a serial pest. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1340Nov 18, 2015 6:23 pm Our roof has been sitting there half finished for about 4 weeks now, and today I get an invoice for completion of the roof. I drove past to verify and it's still the same as it was last week. - not finished. Needless to say I won't be paying this invoice yet. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109707 Hi there! Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 25849 |
