I have noticed it on other blocks as well? Re: Building the Stoneleigh with Dale Alcock in Tuart Ridge 50Aug 19, 2015 9:23 pm Congrats!! Great news Re: Building the Stoneleigh with Dale Alcock in Tuart Ridge 51Aug 21, 2015 7:19 pm Following your build We just had the same problem with Bankwest valuing our house $70k under. So basically they want us to build a basic house in Baldivis. What if you aren't first home buyers and don't want to build a basic first home buyers house?? There are blocks of land going near Cockburn for only a little bit less than my total build. They must get their valuing licences from Weeties boxes. Re: Building the Stoneleigh with Dale Alcock in Tuart Ridge 52Aug 21, 2015 7:43 pm Have you separated out the meter box and fuse box? It might be good to have them separate, with the fuse box inside the garage so you don't need to go out if one if the RCDs trip. This is my second house but I made a good profit on the first and wanted to take advantage of the location in Tuart Ridge to make the house a bit more 'upmarket'. After all, i have a school 200m away, tennis coursts 100m away and the new IGA/gym/specialty shops etc are being built a stones throw away! The houses they compared my valuation against are 5 years old with pretty basic kitchens etc. So not comparable in my opinion. I didn't care since I know the proper valuation after handover will better reflect the true worth but it sux it pushed my LMI up so much so now I don't have enough $$$ to finish everything after handover. I'll be learning how to build decks etc that's for sure! Lol! It's just one of the things we just have to stomach I guess.... I will be locking the meter box with a western power lock though so thieves can't turn my power of to see if I am home! Re: Building the Stoneleigh with Dale Alcock in Tuart Ridge 55Aug 25, 2015 12:17 pm Grrrr it's really frustrating isn't it! On another note, Baldivis is getting and IGA? About time! Yes.... well, when I say IGA I mean an independent grocery store. Lol! But the vacant area on Makybe near the school is slated for development Re: Building the Stoneleigh with Dale Alcock in Tuart Ridge 58Sep 04, 2015 10:11 am Really? Was I doing my spiderman impersonation on top of the retaining wall?! Lol! It's coming along well so far! Very happy with the quality of the concrete work compared to others! I hate how small everything feels when it's just a slab though.... the missus was disappointed with how small the shower looked until I said to wait for the walls. The latest debacle for me is my dishwasher recess. It's currently an 610mm opening for a free standing machine and I want to put in an integrated machine. This means the space needs to be 600mm, add a kickboard and a front panel and should all be good but Dale Alcock want $700 to do this! And that's the price after haggling over it. They said they have to install the dishwasher as it reflects on them as a company so there is fees for a plumber and cabinet maker to put the front panel on etc. So I am getting a price to just reduce it to 600mm with carcass ends and I'll do it myself after. After the crappy bank valuation I don't have that sort of money to throw around unless I want to go without tiles! Lol! Re: Building the Stoneleigh with Dale Alcock in Tuart Ridge 59Sep 15, 2015 9:34 pm So unhappy with whoever installed the power to where the meterbox will be..... they have destroyed the footings with the bucket of a backhoe, destroyed my stormwater pipes and undermined the slab (can see under it so not very compacted now) I rang DA at 4.35 but my CLO had gone home so have to wait until tomorrow. Was so annoyed even if it can be fixed. As far as I know, you can't simply pour more concrete on the busted footings cause it doesn't work that way so I don't know how they plan to replace the footings ready for tons of bricks. Steel plate bridging the gap maybe?? Anyway, now I have to wait and I hate it! I would be so upset if I saw that. Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11828 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21618 |
