Im an electrician so i would want to do my own electrical otherwise i wouldnt build with them just to save money in that area. Whats the overall build quality like? And if you dont mind me asking were are you building? Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10087Jun 10, 2015 8:53 am centralwest1 Hi all. Just after some info on the following. Im currently looking at houses to build in the central west of NSW and i love the beechwood floor plans but i have come across alot of unhappy beechwood customers on other forums. Unhappy about the quality of the work, the way they are treated once the contract has been signed and the build time. Some are saying that its taken 7 months already and their home still isnt finished.thats almost double what other builders guarantee. Im looking at the Verdelho 5 so any information about the house if anyone has built it or beechwood would be a great help. I built a slightly modified Verdelho 5 twist. Overall - I'd say I'm satisfied. There are a few issues that are in the middle of being sorted. But nothing major that can't be rectified. Your going to get problems with every builder. I had a great supervisor and fantastic build time. 16.5 weeks from site scrape till keys. Home build around me from McDonald jones, masterton, wisdom and eagle homes took 3-5 months longer than mine and probably have an extra $60,000 price tag for a similar sized home. I think the floor plans are basic but practical. They can be jazzed up if you wish with all the mod cons ect. But you will pay for that of course. If I was to build again, I would consider beechwood again. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10088Jun 10, 2015 9:10 am jazzyad29....where are you building? Thats the reason i was asking in the central west because each house wull be different with different trades.i really like the Verdelho 5 and its good to know you are happy with yours. We built in Appin. South west Sydney area. That explains the price difference for the central west.the verdelho 5 to build is around $45000 dearer then to build in the city. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10091Jun 10, 2015 10:20 am I am building in Parkes. The reason I elected to install solar etc after handover was financial. Quotes from the builder were about double what I could have them done by. So look into everything, any change to basic incurs a cost!! Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10092Jun 10, 2015 12:22 pm WOW $45k that is heaps different, I think ours was $10k difference to build in the illawarra. Elbow we are also getting solar panels who did you go through? Lexia Slim Twist with Beechwood Homes http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/natlyn7/ Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10093Jun 10, 2015 12:57 pm Yea natlyn the original price was about 180. They told me to build here it would be 225. Bloody steep Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10094Jun 10, 2015 8:12 pm Natlyn, bought solar panels a while back from company in Orange....just so I could get full rebate! Panels etc are stacked in my garage waiting to be installed. Centralwest1...where are you building? I believe there are 3 exhibition homes being built in Orange by BW. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10095Jun 10, 2015 8:21 pm Thats a good idea elbow. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10096Jun 14, 2015 5:33 pm Has anyone building the Verdehlo Four Twist decided to do their tiling and carpet after handover? If so could you please let me know what Beechwood gave back as a rebate for carpet and tiles. Cheers NN Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10097Jun 15, 2015 12:09 pm nervousnelly Has anyone building the Verdehlo Four Twist decided to do their tiling and carpet after handover? Bugger all! WOW, I have a quote for Carpet & Laminate Timber Look for $10K. Do you know if BW upgrade from tiles to laminate? Thanks NN I dont think they do.... well here in Sydney they dont... If you know what you want best to get it done after... Just make sure you get the skirting tacted on so you can remove them easily. If you plan to put tiling after. And if the tiles are rectified edge keep in mind best to put some screeding so the tiles are dead flat and straight. Having said this you be best to raise your archs, doors by 30-40mm. Having a screed will cost extra... some will also say. depending on the tiler... ------------- With me Im doing all my tiling after.. and raised doors etc by 40mm and asked for skirting to be tacted on. once tiling is complete. I will need to put the skirting back on myself or find someone to do it. and maybe get them painted again. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10100Jun 15, 2015 3:32 pm Hi all Hubby and I are in the early stages of building at Oran Park. We are building the Verdelho 5 twist with grand terraza. We are waiting for BW to provide us with an updated tender and house plans as they have now told us that the land is sloped and we need to split the house. Once we have signed off on the plans what are the next stages/timeframes we can expect. Thanks Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11862 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21675 |
