We were going to tile the terrazza with nonslip tiles. Do you think that would make a difference? I figure it would get dusty no matter what surface you put on it. What would you do it with? Island bench is 3810mm. Why did you swap fridge to other end? Thanks for tip on fridge space and microwave space too will need to do some measurements. Jax it cost $707 to reposition laundry to other side of house and I can't remember how much it cost to do the toilet separate from the bathroom but it wasn't too expensive from memory ( when I find the latest tender I will let you know) Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9988May 24, 2015 8:27 pm Jan, our terrazza tiles are supposed to be non slip, if I could redo it I would use a coloured concrete with a semi rough finish. Exactly like our driveway. Yes it will still get dusty but it won't be as noticeable. Oh wow, your island looked big, that's a great size - we put our sink to one end of the bench so that we get a bigger workspace at one end -about two metres or so. Which also means we can all sit there for meals. Like I said before, our kitchen is very similar. And we also have a pantry instead of the laundry at the end of the kitchen. We initially swapped our fridge because we have a massive fridge, it's 900 x900 and it's black glass. And it would have been an eyesore at the other end, as it turns out we made the cavity wide enough but forgot to make it deeper so our fridge, which is opposite the dishwasher, sticks out a little. http://verdehloguest.blogspot.com.au Bek and John (and our three kids) Building Verdelho Guest at Haywards Bay see page 167 for floorplan Our blog http://verdehloguest.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9990May 24, 2015 10:04 pm Our water outlet was $114 Lexia Slim Twist with Beechwood Homes http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/natlyn7/ Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9991May 25, 2015 9:15 am natlyn Our water outlet was $114 Thanks natlyn... I think it is one of the simple thing we won't think. But it will make huge difference in future, especially family with kids. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9992May 25, 2015 9:46 am Yeh I found that there are lots of small upgrades that Beechwood don't tell you about that they should that would make a difference to the functionality of something. For instance the bathroom vanities don't come standard with a shelf inside, it wasn't offered to us at colours but we had heard about it on the forum so new to ask. http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ Lexia Slim Twist with Beechwood Homes http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/natlyn7/ Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9993May 25, 2015 11:05 am when you get flooring done after handover, like we're having laminate floor boards, how do they lay it under the island bench? I know they leave off or just tack on the skirting boards but what about under things? Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9994May 25, 2015 3:51 pm I haven't gotten laminate floor boards but as far as I'm aware they don't do it under the kitchen bench, they do it up to the bench and then put beading around the edges. Also just double check that they will take the skirting off or tack it for you because I asked them to do the skirting after the tiling and they wouldn't. Lexia Slim Twist with Beechwood Homes http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/natlyn7/ Re: Who is building with Beechwood 9999May 25, 2015 9:45 pm Yes it is a pity they don't tell you about all these things when you are going through it. Our fridge is not too big and it is white so shouldn't be a problem where it is. Good idea about the sink but I think I might feel a bit funny washing up at one end of the bench rather than in the middle, but something worth thinking about. I think we upgraded our vanities to have drawers but will need to check about a shelf. Coloured concrete yes that is sounding good. Won't do anything with it until after handover I think. Wow liz that is a huge tank! Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10000May 26, 2015 12:42 pm lizsmith So we have found out that we need to have a 15900 litre storm water tank, any good ideas to hide the beast of a thing??? Its right next to the master bedroom. they initially told us we needed a huge tank but we jumped up and down about it and stated that noone else in our estate had one that big (and had to supply evidence) and now have a slimmer one rather than round.
