Sounds like a great idea however I searched it and I couldn't find it! My name is Kristy Nelson on facebook - can you add me to it or send me a screen shot so I can look further? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 10275Apr 30, 2015 8:38 am cwiseman So having a walkthrough tomorrow morning- FINALLY get to see my kitchen!!! YAY! Outside eaves completed today and the façade is coming together as the flushing above the portico and the corder line (have no idea how to spell that) and accents around window look to have been done. Will have photos tomorrow as could only see through fence this afternoon in the rain. Good to hear about your quick tradies Nat and Dan Kitchens- we too went with no handles on above cupboards- more streamline look. Flooring- we had MJH do our 600 x 600 tiles and carpet. Prices were above other stores obviously but again I want to move into a complete house. Progress payment 4 will be sent off tomorrow (only two left now) and blinds and shutters ordered. Only downfall is went to check our things in storage today in Maitland area and it appears to have had quite a bit of water damage from the storms, thank goodness we had insurance. Mainly kids beds and mattresses and our lounge by the look of it but will have a good look through tomorrow. Off to a night duty before we get to go inside our house again (like a kid before xmas) Hi cwiseman - Do you have a photograph of the tile you selected? - Whats the square meterage for your tiled and carpeted area? - Which carpet did you select? I think my tiled area (excluding main bathroom and toilets which are mandatory) is around 90-100m2. I'm going to carpet all the bedrooms and home theatre and it's around 60-70m2 Are these measurements similar to your Bronte? Sorry to hear about your furniture, another job to take care of. I've also got my property in storage but it didn't rain as hard my way so I think I'm safe. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 10276Apr 30, 2015 10:37 am creedyflyr Spronkly creedyflyr Week 15 Progress Tiles finished & Vanities installed. Walked in yesterday to check on things & was surprised to find the Splash Back installed. Absolutely love the colour & cant wait to see the appliances installed. Now have to order some Clipsal Saturn switches in espresso black! Painter was set up for start of painting today. Happy Dayz. Creedy. Hey creedy very cool colour with your kitchen...something we don't see too often I assumed you did not get the Saturn switches upgrade from MDJH. If so, did you asked them to just leave the outlet/switches cavities ready for the GPO and switches you will purchase yourself? My friend is a sparky and I asked him to do most of my electrical upgrades (LED's, ceiling fans, switch upgardes, etc). Any helpful tips will be appreciated. Thanks, We just went with the standard switches from MJH & We will just change them out after handover as its much cheaper. They are a standard cavity size so easy to swap them over. Creedy. I believe the Saturn range gpo's need a bigger cutout than a standard, If you have any in splashbacks I would look into it Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 10277Apr 30, 2015 10:59 am Hi guys just wondering if anyone has the ironstone colorbond roof, if so what render colours did you go for??? Any pics?? Also appliances, can't choose between smeg or baumatic, what did everyone get?? I haven't heard much about baumatic. Also appliances, can't choose between smeg or baumatic, what did everyone get?? I haven't heard much about baumatic. I've gone with SMEG. All my appliances were SMEG in my previous property and they never had any issues. Baumatic from what I understand is relatively new to the Australian market but rates similarly well overseas. Although no fence as the one that we had that blew down wasn't actually meant for our land anyway. And now no one has come to remove it so MJ can't put their new fence up. It's all a bit odd! Cwiseman enjoy your walk through and sorry to hear about your storm damage Love that fish tank and the lounges! Floorboards look so good too! I hope ours look that good! I'll try and grab that sqm price this afternoon from our colours pack, just on my way out for the day to uni though! Hoping I come home this afternoon to piering!!! Hi Jo, MDJ will not put a temporary fence on the side if the other builder already put theirs due to space, they're going to put the front fence only as they did to ours....my future neighbours are asking for credit since we're using theirs LOL Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 10280Apr 30, 2015 12:05 pm Vanderville Davo83 Hi guys just wondering if anyone has the ironstone colorbond roof, if so what render colours did you go for??? At the time, our choice was Miele or smeg. We went with Miele. I've heard good things about baumatic too though. Do some online research and check the reviews etc! It's a sad looking day here today... But still hoping and praying our brickies are finishing off our job... Cannot wait to have that roof on so we can stop checking the weather reports every 2 minutes!!!!!! We are up to day 11 of bricking hopefully.... But as I mentioned, began Easter Friday! It's been a long process! Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones. It looks relatively cheaper than other builders.
