Hi TLB,
Good to see things moving in the right direction.
A couple of months ago you asked if I had set up a blog for our build.
We'll I've finally started a build thread to document our KDR with Mainvue.
Fingers crossed...

We're currently building the Montague 21 in Point Cook, and we're almost done. We had the driveway poured last week (part of a PD package), checked it out on the weekend and now the colour is not what we selected. We opted for "Pompeii" as the colour, which is clearly light brownish in colour. Now what we've got is only light grey, looks like what they call "Cashew" or even lighter (colours here: http://www.boral.com.au/productcatalogu ... oduct=2778 ). Has anyone else had similar issues? The CS insists it is Pompeii, the concreters who did the job apparently say it's Pompeii, but we can see it is not. We are really annoyed with this as it messes up our colour concept completely. I mean why do you do a colour appointment if in the end what you select doesn't matter and you're being told " ah, the samples look different anyway"... That's just not good enough, sorry. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Re: Porter Davis homes 11144Apr 08, 2015 9:44 am Hi Pungentia we have advised PD we are not paying our slab invoice until issues are fixed. Some are minor but we also had a very major issue with our slab poor, they were fine with this. not sure if it would be a different story if the issues were all very minor Built the Bermuda with Porter Davis Re: Porter Davis homes 11145Apr 08, 2015 10:05 am MontagueBuilders Hello all! You could take them a photo, but colour can be a real pain to get accurate in photos due to lighting. Re: Porter Davis homes 11146Apr 08, 2015 3:08 pm For those people that are interested, I asked PD for clarification about the standard shower frames and the upgrade options. Is it usual to have such a high turnover on these builds? I expected to have the same one the whole way through. My concern is the constant swapping means the new supervisor not getting all the information from the last and not having as much pride/professionalism in the build as most of it he wasn't responsible for. I know it's not the supervisors fault, but I find this very unprofessional of Porter Davis to keep swapping staff like this. You could take them a photo, but colour can be a real pain to get accurate in photos due to lighting. Thanks. I contacted Boral and they were really helpful. They have a showroom in Port Melbourne (251 Salmon Street, Mon-Fri 9am-3pm), and I would advise everyone who is fussy about their driveway colour to check this out (it's only 10 mins from WOS), because their colour samples look different to the ones at WOS. Anyway it didn't help us really. The driveway we now have looks completely grey and not at all like the Pompeii samples at Boral or WOS, the very helpful salesperson was able to confirm this based on our photos. He also checked the order for our site and confirmed Pompeii was ordered by the concreter, but what happened then is unclear. Still really unhappy. Meeting the CS on site tomorrow morning again. Hi dojrude, the construction manager who will be overseeing your build will make contact with you tomorrow to discuss all your concerns, and answer any queries you have to enable you to be confident with the progress of home. We have the opposite, a great CS all the way through the project (we're at PCI now), who is always very helpful and extremely responsive. On the other hand, we had a very average experience with our sales person, and still having an abysmal experience with our BC. Problem is she is not responding. At all. As an example, we received the letter confirming the construction start date (which was in November) in February while we were in the Fix stage... I couldn't stop laughing when I read it. Now I am trying to organise settlement appointment since last week, but just the same old story. It is absolutely terrible beyond belief. Lots of pics! http://itsallaboutthewaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/slab-pour-day.html One question. The alfresco is meant to have a drain, and there was one provisioned in the plumbing. I'm assuming that they will dig through the concrete to find it and put a proper drain point in??? Re: Porter Davis homes 11157Apr 11, 2015 9:25 pm Final of four posts for the night. This one is a must read for those of you who have, or have had, concerns over (or experience with) the quality controls in place for slabs. http://itsallaboutthewaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/quality-control-of-slabs-concrete.html Re: Porter Davis homes 11158Apr 13, 2015 12:29 pm I have had a terrible customer experience so far with PD. This has got to a point where I am considering stopping the build and going to VCAT to try to sort out the mess they have in their head office. I have a BC who has no idea about what the final plans are (I've not signed them off and the ones he has are inccorect). They have put the wrong size alfresco door in the frames (and it isn't centred). The lack of communication and organisation has meant I now have a house being built that is seemingly full of errors. I am getting told one story by Head Office and another by the BC to the point where I now have no faith that either of them is correct. I am now fighting with them over changes that they didn't complete - even though I never signed the final plans - because I picked up that the final drawings had errors in them. They still chose to go ahead with building the house and now it appears they do not care at all that I am picking up errors. As this is all occuring my final building variations are coming through - which even though I haven't signed these off they are now a month into the build and everything has been ordered allegedly. This includes windows which are being changed due to 6 star requirements which I have not been consulted on. I didn't want this to be a public thing - but this is a terrible way to run a business and all I can encourage others to do is make sure you keep all your emails, and confirm every last thing in writing. Re: Porter Davis homes 11159Apr 13, 2015 1:00 pm Hi Chris610, can you please PM me your full name and build address please, I would like to ensure that all relevant management are across your experience in the hope that all matters can be addressed and resolved as efficiently as possible. Scary to see this happen but we've been promised that we will be given engineering for all the work done as well as an independent inspection report.
