Its been awhile since I check in to the forum. It seems things are moving along smoothly for everyone,......... except us of course!!!
We are still waiting on a building licence. We were a little slow on getting our final plans together but now it has been passed through to the health department in regards to the acoustic requirements. Apparently, a lot of builders have had issues with this. I was so angry with my builder that I went down to Cockburn council myself to find out what the hold up was. They were very helpful and explained why builders were having problems. Long story short, our ensuite window needed the 6.38mm upgrade also as we have no door between the ensuite and master bedroom.
Ive check into Calleya a few times and cant believe the progress of some homes. Its so exciting to see them all pop up. We have had 2 truck loads of dirt dumped on our block which we had to get removed. Am really not happy about that as it is an extra cost that we really cant afford. They have been dumped there by other builders. I've noticed the whole site is really quite messy and after speaking with some people from Georgio, it seems this is a lot worse than most sites.
Hi Chadtyn,
Is this requirement only for blocks with noise control? I haven't finalised my builder yet but so far none of the builders have included 6.38mm windows to Ensuite. My block does not have noise control.
Totally agree with the mess in Calleya. I went there last week and some of the streets were full of sand..especially the ones close to display villege.
Hope you get building license soon!
Hello Ro_14
The 6.38mm laminated glass is the basic noise attenuation that applies to all lots in Calleya. Bathrooms and ensuites do not require it however as we have no door between our ensuite and master bedroom, the glazing in the ensuite has to be upgraded to keep the noise out of the sleeping area.
