Hi, my builder is suggesting to go with metal blade piers for the slab instead of the concrete piers, based on the bore hole report.
Which is better? what is the difference in cost.
is metal blade pier the same as screw head piers?
thanks

Re: metal blade pier 2Jan 22, 2015 3:58 pm Blade piers are really just a different design of screw pile with 2 cutting edges rather than the traditional 1. This link gives a comparison between screw piles and concrete piers. http://www.anewhouse.com.au/2012/10/bui ... rew-piles/ There is some suppliers blurb about the 'advantages' of blade piles over traditional screw piles at this link http://www.civilandstructural.com.au/wp ... y-Mode.pdf The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
