Well done. Sorry to hear about troubles with not getting fixed. I think most builders are like that I am sorry to say. Just do the very basics and try to get away with a lot. Not good at all when you have spent a lot of effort, love and money to build your home. Very unprofessional . Hope you get everything sorted out. Feeling the love These posts were from aaaaages ago though - we've been in a full year now and have fixed most stuff (ourselves). It is par for the course with building, but we've built a few times and this was the worst for sh.itt.y workmanship by far! Lucky I have a handy hubby and a sense of humour, eh? Glad you got everything sorted, lucky for you that DH is so handy. Mine is too but he has way too much on his plate all the time (I don't want to push my luck) and it's looking more and more like we will have to pay someone to fix our long list of things. I really don't want to grr. The latest is parts of the front of home rendering is bubbling up, turning white and falling off. Great. Re: Sim & Gwyn's Aveling Build - 6 month maintenance 1027Oct 21, 2014 10:06 pm Hi SB Great to talk to you again! <3 I can't believe you guys are having that issue too - so are we! Wel,l sort of. Our front render has gone all white along the bottom - really badly; and it shows up a lot against our brown render. It looks so bad. I talked to the paint place and they recommended painting a sealer over it (Solver Smartseal) and then painting the beaver colour over that again. Hopefully it works? I feel so bad that yours is bubbling up and falling off though....I would probs contact Aveling about that if you can be bothered....that's something that they would have to recognise as being a problem caused by them and in their domain to fix! C.rap hey? Still keen to catch up soon, have been working full time for quite some time but I WILL be in touch, have not forgotten you xx Re: Sim & Gwyn's Aveling Build - 6 month maintenance 1029Oct 21, 2014 10:20 pm Goody!
