Nothings happened on our site for 2 weeks except a bathtub or two was delivered and some plaster holes were patched.

But, we put a deposit down on our new carpets yesterday and put in for some curtain quotes. Just have to nut down the timber flooring quotes and we're set to wait for handover.

Unlike the rest of you, we are in a rental and have unpacked pretty much everything. So we're going to have a big packing job on our hands. (Plus a large aquarium to move)

But looking forward to not paying rent and mortgage at the same time.

Mrs BB, we're doing the rent/mortgage thing too ... As the progress payments come in the mortgage payments increase ... Not for much longer though, as for packing we want from a 4 bed rental to a 3 bed and have put lots into storage, what haven't needed for 18months I don't think I'll need so it might just go in the skip.
Hope we all have action on site this week

Ah, I'm not the only one.

We got a progress claim today for fit out. I wasn't expecting it as I figured they should have been further along. Thought it would include things like tiling + painting. Is this the case with everyone?

Oh, and still no work today. Its been 2 weeks and nothing. I may not be in for xmas at this rate.

Hi Mrs BB - We got our fixout claim 3 weeks ago. if you look at the FixOut letter from Rawson it says "this excludes installation of stone bench tops, tiling, appliances and driveway".

Painting occured a week after fixout claim and toilets/bathtub/taps 2 weeks after.

We got our Fix Out last week & we had out tiling done, benchtops installed, ceilings,skirting & door frames painted with the walls started.

Our internal appt is tomorrow and I still trying to decide if we should go with shadowline style (no handle) in the kitchen. Can someone tell me how much is this upgrade will cost roughly?

Also, on the day, are they able to tell you what each upgrade will cost? Such as this sink, tapware, door etc...?

Can't remember about the shadow line but for things like tap and sink they were able to give us a price on the day. For the majority of stuff though you will need to wait for a quote to come through.

Update for us. SS was unhappy with a couple items so delayed our handover till today. We're still waiting for the kitchen stuff to arrive though, so fingers crossed it all comes shortly.

datdat - Shadowline throughout for us cost $850 for us but I guess this depends on size of kitchen and if there is a butler's pantry with cabinetry.

There is a list of upgrades for electricals but for overall colours I have only seen display home upgrade lists (ie/ a list of upgrades featured in the Fairview display home at The Ponds). Colours upgrades is far too extensive to list out. Take the front door for example, you can go standard 820mm with a sidelight, 1020mm hinged upgrade or even 1200mm pivot. Then the different handles/lock systems...

I'm pretty sure we didn't pay any extra for shadow line. Things must have changed.

I'm going to ring the SS today to see why we are in our third week of nothing.

Hi datdat, I'm building a modified Seaview 27 and it was $800 for shadowline for my kitchen. They can give you the pricing during the appointment if you choose from their range in the colour studio. I asked for a lot of quotes with multiple options for the same item. It took them a couple of weeks to come back to me. I'm happy to share the details if you want. We didn't pay any extra for shadow line.

Drove passed today and we have a garage door & it matches perfectly with the stain of the front door.

Media room has also been painted, we chose 1 wall for the feature and paid to have the other 3 and the ceiling painted the same...it looks awesome.

I have shadow line and if I had to pay extra for it I wouldn't get it. Not worth it IMHO.

Another horses for courses as I would have paid more to get rid of handles.

Also yes shadowline is free for top cupboards but not under bench cupboards and drawers.

Aha, we just had them done for the top cupboards. I upgraded the bottom to some lovely hettich handles and they look great.

Bad news from the SS. Nothing will happen on site until late next week. It'll take us to a month of no action and will potentially Impact us being in for Xmas. Even if they hand over before Xmas, if it's too late, I might not be able to get flooring trades in. I'm seriously annoyed.

Painful, very painful. Our place is having one thing completed at a time. I don't even know when we are expected to finish. Robbie when did they put your fly screens on?

Sorry to hear of all the delays. The only positive thing I can say is that a lot can be accomplished in day so hopefully it won't put you too far behind.

Our fly screens were probably one of the last things to be installed. They collect all sort of debris from around the site so it kind of makes sense.
