Hi everyone in stage 5E,

We received notice from Investa that registration is expected on about the 18th of June and therefore expecting settlement on the 2nd of July

FYI - we are building with Metricon and so far have found them to be amazing. But it really depends on which builder offers the best floorplan you can work with for your block and which is better value for money with all the inclusions they provide. In my opinion anyway!

That's awesome news, wish I received the email though so I could let my mortgage broker know.

We're building with Eden Brae, they had the best floor plan that suited us.
They have been fairly easy to deal with.

We are also building with Eden Brae as they have the floor plan we liked. Paid the initial $750 deposit two weeks ago however no further update ..... hmmmm not sure if this is the process but starting to worry. Not sure if this is the standard practice
Every time i call the sales rep, she promises update however none yet.... glad I do have a backup option from different builder

When we put down our $750 deposit it took them roughly 2 weeks for a CSA to get back to us to book a tender appointment

Welcome to all newbies on the forum!
Just thought I'd update everyone regarding the Marina and proposed Recycling Plant.
The Marina proposal should go before the JRPP in the very near future for, hopefully, final consideration. With any luck it will be approved in the next few months.
As for the Recycling Facility, the Dept of Planning is still, almost 18 months after initial display, considering and assessing the application. Many issues have been raised which need to be fully investigated.
I will pass on any further updates as they come to hand

Do you know what's happening with the existing recycle plant? From what I can see it's still in full use.
Houses are beginning to be built on the boundary of GF opposite this recycle plant.

The marina site is a sand mine and not a recycling centre. The recycling centre for Benedicts is in Chipping Norton.

Thanks Mecha...I'm aware that Benedict operate their recycling facility in Riverside Ave, but am assured that the large mounds of material from their site off Newbridge Rd adjacent to Georges Fair will go once the Marina construction begins.

I think it comes down to the inspector when they do your final inspection as some people have mentioned here that they had to follow the plan exactly and others have got away with making changes.

I would suggest discussing this with the council and see what they say.

You could always do the basics just to get through council and then make changes later.

Congratulations on the registration.. shouldn't be too long now

Just a bit nervous as we have gotten rid of our solicitor as he wasn't any good so we are now trying to do it all independently!

We have kept our landscape plan very simple, however have noticed a few things we would like to amend (i.e. driveway placement to be moved slightly and extension of pavers out the back). In our minds they aren't big changes - however I am not sure how particular we need to be.

Hi all,
So we are wanting to get our final occupancy certificate but have heard they are making people follow their landscape plans accurately

Does anyone know anything about this? I only did my landscape plan to satisfy georges fair guidelines, not realising that council actually have a say in it!! Whoops!!!!
My next question is does anyone know a good independent certifier??? and how much they roughly costs??
