Decided on MJH for the builder after shopping around and after some long discussions and trips to display homes everywhere and many hours looking at design brochures, we decided on the Milano Four 15m design… Been through the initial quotation and just completed the revised quotation. Also have just gone through initial colour walkthrough at the bella vista office. As they say in every reality show, this is the start of a long journey. This is a first build and hopefully not to many cases of fresh ulcers. But this should be very educational. We started this in may 2013 and should be completed by dec 2014. welcome guys Grey gums is nice, had a drive around there the other day. we are on Curtis rd off hezlett building the milano4 16m. it is a process but once started it is going well so far!!! our frame is up and brickies coming next week. site sup said we have to get rid of more dirt again (anyone want any??) colours was fun and they made it easy. just bought some lights at beacon to put in after handover. the electricals was limited in choice !!! good luck rohan Building Milano 4 16m at North Kellyville Deposit paid 5/2013 Colours 7/9/13 Contract Signed 4/09/14 Land settled 13/10/13 CDC approval 26/11/13 Electricals 04/12/13 Construction list 11/12/13 Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 5897Mar 07, 2014 10:05 am merrynamy ^^^ MelnTom finally a garage door yayayay! but that is devastating news about the kitchen perhaps they'll get started on your tiling in the interim? awful news though, ughhh Orchid1, definitely varies from person to person - we had site action from day 7 however others have had to wait til day 20 before pegs. fingers crossed for a speedy build congrats on CDD Jamie88! blog looks fantastc J and A our tiles are finished (just want to give them a good mop ) and no idea what to expect now Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Yay tiles merrynamy...they look awesome and very similar to ours woohoo What rotten luck...Mel I hope your still in by April!!!! Congrats, Jamie88...another step closer Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 5898Mar 07, 2014 3:20 pm lilyrose Hi All, We have just had our block registered after nearly 11 months of waiting and eagerly waiting to build. Picked out our house in January (Bronte Executive Grand) and added on 3rd garage and butlers pantry. Had colours last week and had a great time with my husband away overseas for work. Hope he likes everything We are way over budget with our first time building and not really prepared for all the hidden costs. Our block has also given us many hidden costs with the soil tests now coming back as "E" class which means our slab costs are huge. But still very excited to get things underway. Hope to do contracts in the next couple of weeks. Look forward to reading everyone's updates, its great to see what everyone else is going through too!! Welcome to the joys of building lilyrose....love the name by the way. You must be soooooo thrilled that your block has finally been registered...yay. The Bronte is a lovely home and I'm sure the changes you've made will no doubt be awesome. I can honestly say that most of us here have had our fair share of budget blowouts...it's inevitable I guess when building, but I'm sure you will see the benefits when your build is finished. It's certainly a shame to find the hidden costs well after you purchase that special block and imagine the home of your dreams being built on it, unfortunately it's just the first hurdle that most face. Good luck with the contracts and the build I look fwd to watching your home grow Michelle Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 5899Mar 07, 2014 3:44 pm Just got a call from our CLO and we are on the construction list.
