We still dont think we will see any work on the block until March, we roughly worked out 2 weeks or so for council and the after that they say allow 45 working days for siteworks to start (I think the 45 days is a worst case but still thats technically 9 weeks) so I think best case we are looking at mid March for a slab and worst case April...REALLLLLLY hoping it doesnt take that long but hey its out of our control now I guess. I didnt end up driving the plans in today, my husband told me just to post it since they came with a express post envelope. He didnt think me hand delivering it would make a huge difference to anything. So with the long weekend I guess they will get our signed plans on Tuesday. On another note I drove past our block yesterday to see our neighbour had a TAP haha look at me getting excited for their tap - its a bit sad isnt it Oh well gives me something to focus on when we drive by as there is no one on our street yet so will be cool to seeing some houses going up Panraptor I will be checking out your thread soon Great to hear you've handed all your plans in, we can all wait together haha. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 95Jan 25, 2014 2:09 am You will get there.Trust me once they start those bricks they will fly through .and before you know it you will be at lock up stage trying to break in ti show us pictures .i think plans stage and the time you get to slab are the longest wait. and from what i read on here the fix up stage . The key is keep ringing redink and ask for updates . don't worry they actually know my number on caller id . everyone build 1is different .i signed up with redink Oct 2012 .we then got fiance in Jan 2013.prestart in April and slab in late October and roof in Jan 2014.so iv worked out we will probley be finished in April may(im guessing)and this October will be 2 years that we signed up.but at the end of it we both will have the home we wanted . Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 96Jan 25, 2014 5:07 am Congrats on your plans, rosienchris. Redinker Ok guys I'll try to ignore other peoples timelines, although can't make any promises! Or just compare against people like snowing - a few days or week doesn't seem so bad compared to a two year kick off However, if you're building in a new estate with houses going up all around you, it can be hard not to compare progress. If I could offer one other piece of advice that has helped me out - ignore any dates given to you by the builder/SS, just listen to what work is being done next. It may feel a bit open-ended but they will be trying to get your build down as quick as possible, so let them stress about the dates rather than you. Easier said than done but it has allowed me to enjoy the build more Demo + Build in Rivervale, Western Australia Moved in June 2014 http://rivervale.tumblr.com/ Building Thread Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 97Jan 25, 2014 11:20 am Timelines are good indication of how things unfold for others, but every build is different, you can't compare them really Agree with Zaxon, ignore any dates given to you. It's a project that relies on so many contractors, we come to really appreciate our SS's effort as we are close to PCI now, we just started getting trades in to do quotes and pencil in dates for post-handover works, more than half of them don't turn up and won't pick up their phones, it's frustrating. If we're to build another house in the future and if we can stretch the budget, I'd probably get the builder to do most of the work Rosienchris On another note I drove past our block yesterday to see our neighbour had a TAP haha look at me getting excited for their tap - its a bit sad isnt it Oh well gives me something to focus on when we drive by as there is no one on our street yet so will be cool to seeing some houses going up rosienchris, I so wish to see my neighbour's tap, but it doesn't look like they're in a hurry. haha.. Enjoy the journey Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 98Jan 28, 2014 10:29 pm Soooo apparently our house doesnt comply with the 6 star energy rating and there have had to be a few changes in order for it to pass. Im so confused right now, I just assumed all this type of stuff had already been checked before pre start. When we signed our contracts we were not told about another 4 weeks of waiting for engineers details etc and that it wont go to council for a little while yet. Feeling super down today, we really didnt realise how long this process would take. The last build was definitley a different story in terms of admin work. I know I need to be patient but its so hard thinking of paying rent later on for longer. Our sales rep really sold it to us that it would be 6 months for paperwork and 6 months for the build so we assumed we would be in by August and therefore wouldnt need to resign any leases on this place. Argh really need to stop stressing and try not to think about it until its gone through the process it needs to go through. It just feels like another month has been added to our timeline. Sorry for whingey post, I dont like to complain about things like this as I know there is a process that needs to be followed. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 99Jan 28, 2014 10:56 pm We were definitely told up to 6 months for each stage also, so reasonable to expect that. So sorry to hear about delay. Whinge away. Fingers crossed everything moves quicker. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 100Jan 28, 2014 10:59 pm I hate waiting too!! every week there is more paper work!! it doesn't help my build when my husband changes his mind on things too!!! each time its more paper work. Do you feel like you cant get things done (like cleaning, cooking and watching the kids), because you mind is stuck on the build??? Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 4553 Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71807 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 |
