Hickinbotham build progress - Progress update

Word is the keys will be handed over in the next couple of days. Just waiting for the cheque from the bank to come through, which they have been told they are just waiting for the bank to phone them to come and pick it up, garage door goes on Wednesday and that is it!! Looks like they will be moving in this weekend

An exciting weekend for them and a mixed emotion weekend for me and my Hubby.

Once they are in I will post some pics for all to see.

Did Hickies change the end kitchen cupboard?

Oh, and what is he doing about waterproofing the sides of the slab--I'll need to know about that, if you don't mind sharing.

Hi Lucinda,

Yes the cupboard is fixed and looks so much better!!

The waterproofing I am not sure about yet. I think he is going to chat to the Concreter about it. As soon as I know I will post it for you.

I am not really looking forward to him going but then again I am hehe

Thanks so much. Another on the list of our needing a Cert. IV or higher in building to know what we should know that we don't find out until afterwards. (Sorry to be negative, bit down today. Explained on my thread.

Cheque is in their hot little hands!!!!!!! Friday exchanging for keys!!!!!!

That makes it a 15 week build. PHew that was quick!! Whether that is a good thing or not I am not sure.

Oh, and that's 16 weeks to the day from signing the contract. Great job Hickies.

It is actually 15 weeks from slabbed. Contract was signed 11 months ago in December '12 but still that is quick from go to whoa!!!

Wow!! 15 weeks is fantastic.....sure would have been for us we've been paying virtually a full mortgage and rent now for months....not ideal to say the least!!
Very exciting for them, I remember when my hubby and I got the keys to our first home we just sat on the cold cement in our living room that night thinking is this really ours!!!

Hey Asa,

Handover went well, but there was no remotes for the garage door and they were supposed to be there on Monday they were told, but they turned up 20 mins after they had left. So back they had to go to pick them up. House needed a clean as it had been cleaned but there was still people in and out fixing things so it really needed recleaning which they have done themselves. Toilets had obviously been used as they needed cleaning also (yuck). The block was left with a pile of rubbish still left laying around and they have said they will get someone out to remove it. All in all not too bad I suppose but could have been better. But maybe I expect a bit more then they do

But they are happy

The happy couple moved in Friday night and spent the first night with their mattress on the floor in their bedroom. Carpet layer will be there on Monday and Tuesday so they will be able to set up their bedroom on Tuesday. They are so excited to finally be in.

Did they have any information on the waterproofing on the side of the slab?
