Sheffield 25 @ Eden Grange Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 46Oct 18, 2013 7:32 pm Hi Shellstar 76 Thank you and nice to meet you. We are building closer to the corner of Cranbourne and McCulloch. Have you had all your appointment done? We had ours all done, but have had some changes.... All the best with the build... Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 47Oct 20, 2013 3:50 pm Shellstar, we like timber too! We're flexible too but I guess it depends on all our neighbours as would prefer same fencing all around And another McCullogh typo, haha! Is anyone getting a security door? If so, do you know through what company? We would like to check out designs before our appt. Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 48Oct 21, 2013 2:42 pm Hey Chez, I'm glad you like timber too! That's 1 neighbour down, 2 to go! Lol! A security door at the front isn't at the top of our list as most of our living is at the back... Maybe in time will get one, I do like just the plain kind, that's just thick mesh and no pattern though if I were to get one. Rumm, We are 4 lots up from Cranbourne street! Building our first home! Sheffield 25 @ Eden Grange Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 50Oct 21, 2013 2:51 pm We had our solicitor look over our contracts yesterday ahead of contract signing on Friday, he wasn't happy with a clause in there about soil contamination & that the vendor takes no responsibilty for any soil contamination that there may be. Did anyone else's solicitors become concerned about this too? Our solicitor is saying we won't be ready for contract signing on Friday unless Blacktown council release the results from the soil tests they did to determine why it contains saline..... Ahhhhhhh! Building our first home! Sheffield 25 @ Eden Grange Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 51Oct 21, 2013 3:54 pm We tried to get them to extend the maintenance period but EBH pretty much just said 'no' Let us know if they change it for you. Remember there is a lot of generic contract sections that would protect EBH if we just said 'Knock our house down and build a new one' but I guess they didn't change it to situation the situation about EBH building an estate Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 52Oct 21, 2013 6:17 pm The clause I'm referring to, means the vendor which is McHugh.... Will not take responsibilty, this is the person we are buying the land from, I think.. Not Eden Brae... It's all so confusing. Building our first home! Bring on contract signing on Friday Building our first home! Sheffield 25 @ Eden Grange Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 57Oct 22, 2013 10:39 am Was that an independent Test? or was that done with EBH? with the online access thing that EBH gives you our status has been sitting on that Soil Test for ages Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 58Oct 22, 2013 10:50 am Not sure about it being an independent test, our solicitor just contacted Blacktown council and they gave him the results of the soil tests which I assume the council have under taken. Sheffield 25 @ Eden Grange Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 60Oct 22, 2013 4:12 pm Just reviewing my second plans which I was sent I notice there is now a Retaining wall required in my plans which states "Supplied by Owner" along with stairs added into my garage which also note that it is to be "supplied by the client" Im Guessing Client and Owner refer to myself???? Shouldn't the Retaining wall be payed for in the fixed site costs? We spent close to 2 years in a process with TA. It was horrible..... we got to tender, and the first cut was 50% over our budget which "they care such about meeting ". We… 18 28612 I built with EB back on 2009.
