Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 06, 2013 10:43 pm Me & my wife have just secured our block of land 537m2! as soon as we got the email as we live 5minutes away we raced down to the office and signed up! $252,000 I've been visiting the site since the start of development back in January! They have 47 blocks in total all mainly 500m2. For the past 3 months as the time gets closer and closer I have been looking at different builders / display homes etc.. so many different companies to choose from and they all offer different pricing.. I myself am looking to build a house for <$200k out of the 5 different companies I was only able to find one that was able to offer a house for that price (4 Bedroom, 2 bathroom, double garage) heck even some houses did not include a drive way.. lots of extra's that other companies would hide from you until you saw the quote.. I thought I would create this thread to post updates / get some input into some of my thoughts and overall create a history for other new home buyers to see what I went through! Costs I've been quoted for some things, NBN Install $775 Temp fencing for site $560 I've just signed the forms and put the $5000 deposit down as of today, spoke to our bank manager whom I've been having regular meetings with prior to this day so I'm all setup! got a conveyancing person who is in the process of receiving all her paperwork from our property manager.. Now just waiting to setup a time to meet with our builder to go through there prelim paperwork.. I must say tho I've never had to sign so much paperwork!! Re: Building New house! Forest Park Doolendella 3Aug 02, 2013 11:00 am How exciting! $200 is a good price for something that size. Hope your prelim goes well. We are building a second dwelling and are currently selecting window and door frames. We want to blend into the forest and also bring out the stone work and the fake wood… 0 20036 Good on you for having a go I am the opposite of DIY (so will pay a builder) - our vibe is industrial/simple so current thinking is 150mm concrete and then internally is… 3 3152 |
