Also we are on the hunt for a good painter to do the inside. If anyone has anyone they can recommend that would be appreciated! Being my first house I am going to paint it myself, then do what you guys are doing for the next house and find someone else to do it for me So did your house look much bigger when the plaster went on? Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 808Jun 24, 2013 11:18 pm Good progress fmac - have you seen Zincworks in a full cabinet? Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 809Jun 24, 2013 11:20 pm Though I'm not convinced the glass in the front door looks translucent.... Hard to tell looking in through the window! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 810Jun 24, 2013 11:23 pm Avery our flooring will be down at handover but since it cost a pretty penny don't want to ruin it, I've also painted a few rooms in my life, not a whole house, and I will put off other new things for the house to pay a painter though at only 122m2 it's not a big house! Donna I haven't seen it in a full cabinet in real life. I really liked the look of it and we nearly used it but the guy at crosby's convinced us that with dark floors and light walls and bench top we should go with dark cabinets. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 811Jun 24, 2013 11:25 pm Donna I think given the chance again I would possibly done white or a very light grey for our cabinets. But haven't seen our choices in real life so find the whole thing so stressful! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 812Jun 24, 2013 11:26 pm what have you gone with? I read back on your first pages and you were going zincworks? Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 813Jun 24, 2013 11:30 pm We went with Formica storm. It was asphalt originally but felt it was a bit too dark. We didn't know we could upgrade to the gloss when we picked colours so it's the normal one. I think the asphalt comes in a gloss version though Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 815Jun 24, 2013 11:39 pm Sorry I couldn't help more! For weeks I had about 5 different greys (some laminex some Formica) stuck next to the floor tile to try and decide which we should use. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 816Jun 24, 2013 11:47 pm What came closest to the floor tile? Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 817Jun 24, 2013 11:51 pm From memory Athe new I liked best were the Formica storm and laminex new graphite and the other one was basalt or something similar. Can't remember the exact name. The asphalt was closer to the really dark colour in the tiles. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 818Jun 25, 2013 5:45 am donna if you would like to see what zincworks we choose the silk finish for our kitchen and have pic on my thread. love your door fmac house is progressing well Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 819Jun 25, 2013 9:06 am Will check it out rocky Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - front door and painter needed 820Jun 25, 2013 9:23 am Things are looking great fmac.
