Munchi you are so close and hopefully your SS received your file yesterday and you get a call today. This happened to us and my CSO went on leave & all we wanted was that call from our SS so I had to ring & complain and then Craig (I think he is the manager of the CSO's) called & gave me our SS name & number and our SS called that afternoon. By this point you don't want to be waiting any more days you just want to see those little yellow pegs and get started! I saw our SS yesterday (he has 3 R builds in the street behind me) & he is not doing our area anymore as they had to get a new SS as he had 30 builds & obviously he can't do that many at once. It's good news for everyone as R have acknowledged that they need extra staff for the extra builds they sold that I don't think they expected as it happened so quick for them, especially in our area. It would have been good if they had of employed more people in their office as maybe they would not have taken so long to do simple drawing changes etc. and the whole long drawn out admin process. We finally had our dishwasher installed yesterday & I was home when they did it. I was talking to them & looking over it & noticed a giant, deep scratch that ran the whole height of the door. When I noticed it they tried to tell me that the plastic was still on. I said no its not and grabbed a dish cloth to see if it was glue and that's when I realised that I could put my whole finger nail in the scratch. They kept saying they didn't see it but even someone with bad eyesight would have seen it! Obviously they did it while they were getting the package off & wanted to get out of here before I noticed it. I thought they seemed to be in a rush & not even explain anything to me!!! I had to then ask them if they were going to call someone or did they want me to & they then volunteered to call their boss. I can accept mistakes are made but if I wasn't home I wonder if the company would have tried to blame me!! Anyway I have my dishwasher now so I am happy and they can sort out what they are going to do. We got a Westinghouse one & I used it last night & it's so quiet and worked really well. I am so happy with the appliances especially the touch screen oven (which was not an upgrade). It's taken a while to work it out but it's great once you get the hang of it! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3255Jun 06, 2013 8:53 am Hi Mel C, Looks like you were lucky that you were there when they installed the dishwasher. Besides that how are you enjoying the new house? Also, did you have B for your SS? We have him on our build and found him really easy to deal with. I always try not bother him too much as I know he's busy but he insists it's no trouble. Noticed our first small issue with the build last night. We had ordered a window splash back that was 3.4 metres long and in all the drawings this was one piece of glass. When we were there last night we could see the window had a join right in the middle. I'll give the SS a call later and hopefully he'll be able to sort it out. Cheers B & K Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3256Jun 06, 2013 8:59 am I think the problem is that these CSOs just make up stuff ALL THE TIME. At the end of the day, if you spent less time telling me misthruths and more time doing the job I'd be a lot happier and they wouldn't have to "fight fires" all day.. I got a response from my CSO this morning saying that the SS got my file yesterday and that pegging takes 2 weeks. That's pretty interesting since he told me last wednesday that the SS had my file and that site would be pegged within the week. Fairly sure I didn't just dream that he said that... Hopefully I get a call from the SS before the week is out. Hubby is working away at the moment and he'll be home tuesday so we're keen to have a face to face with the SS before hubby disappears for work again. MelC good to hear that R have finally started hiring more people. Perhaps they shouldn't have taken on so many builds if they were understaffed in the first place though... Greedy. That's so annoying about your dishwasher too and totally unacceptable that they pretended they couldn't see the scratch while you were standing right there! I'd still call their boss if I were you and let them know. You've spent alot of money on your house and you deserve it to be done well - even down to the dishwasher! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3257Jun 06, 2013 9:23 am Hi Munchi, We had the same issue with the file going to the SS. Basically if they say it's been handed over any other day then Tuesday, then it hasn't happened. Ours was meant to be handed over 2 weeks prior to when it did, I ended up having to call Craig to make sure it happened. You'll be surprised how quickly it all happens once it does start though. Are you still in your 20 days since singing the contract and getting the letter from the bank? Cheers B&K Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3258Jun 06, 2013 9:53 am Munchi our CSO did e same thing and then we were told that it would be express posted to him and it was only when I kept pestering that I was told that it hadn't gone at all. All the peg outs are done by a Sydney company and this took us awhile. Once it gets going, the admin stress will melt away. Glass splashback measured this morning. Still not sure whether we are going to go with glass, caesarstone or tiles. I will see the cost of the caesarstone and glass and then decide. We also had the blinds measured up this morning. Going in this afternoon to see the range and decide what we want and find out how much it will cost. Or is it someone you get passed onto when you're passed the tender & acceptance process and have signed the contract - they're supposed to be your contact? Are they supposed to be the single point-of-contact; ie. you shouldn't need to hassle your Site Supervisor? Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3260Jun 06, 2013 1:40 pm Forg CSO is customer service officer. You are assigned a CSO when you pay your tender acceptance fee. They look after you until you start to build. Once you start building everything is through the SS and you don't speak to your CSO anymore Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
