Browse Forums Building A New House Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 421May 24, 2011 10:07 pm Hi Vortex, our gyprock arrived early last week (we saw it on site Wed) and it was all installed including the ceilings by Friday afternoon. So yeah it goes on fairly quick! Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 422May 25, 2011 1:35 pm It really depends as they'll need to also install insulation which'll take half a day - well ours did. Gyprock is nearly all in taken 2 days so far they're very thorough and tidy which is a nice change. you'll be overtaking us soon enough Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 423May 25, 2011 1:45 pm Thanks for the replies! Aparently our Electrical FF date has been shifted to Saturday, but Gyprock stays on the Tuesday.. Suits me, but really helps our Data Cabler who's going to have to work on a Sunday and Monday to get our data cabling done Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 426May 30, 2011 4:54 pm strange???? is this on just yours or on anyone elses? Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 429May 30, 2011 9:35 pm Theres been a fair bit of theft in the estate, sinks and taps were stolen from a house on Tischendorf last week (in the day) and i noticed early Sunday morning (just before 7) a ute at the house across the road from you was loading his pipe rack with cornice and timber. Seems to be a fair few utes and vans sneaking around early Sundays and mid evenings. Not to mention the bin raiders whom seem to be multiplying daily. Some old chap was in the bin next door Sunday (645am!), stuck his head up and let me know how brisk the morning was, scared the cra# out of me. As most of the homes in the estate are Fairmont i expect the theft is hitting them the hardest. Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 430May 30, 2011 10:00 pm I figured it would have been something along those lines, good to see they've made some kind of attempt to stop it I was there for quite a few hours on Sunday and I was really surprised at the number of people taking wood etc etc, I saw quite a few check our bin for anything with any kind of value or usefulness. Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 431May 30, 2011 10:10 pm Hmm I have questioned 2 utes in the last 3weeks and the standard answer (I think it's rehearsed) is 'we're building a fairmont house up the road and have run out of ....... and the SS said take it from this house' Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 432May 31, 2011 9:56 am wow thats a little scary. I saw a car out the front of your place on Saturday vortex but didnt see anyone. Was that you? I think it was a commodore sedan. I am constantly going past looking for anything suss after our copper piping was nicked. Im nervous that all our internal and front door have been sitting in our bedroom since Friday, im very worried about them being nicked. Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 434Jun 01, 2011 10:04 am Maybe we should set up a few bear traps around the houses Ohh well, on the positive side, maybe Fairmont will move their bums on their builds to ensure less stuff is nicked. You should be in, in no time at all Vortex Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 435Jun 01, 2011 10:38 am Some of our gyprock was up last night, sure does make a huge difference to the place Insulation etc was going in as well which was great Next-door has had their cut/fill done and they pulled out a LOT of rock! Sure glad we didn't buy that place Makes it hard to get a digger in to fix our back yard now though Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 437Jun 03, 2011 6:33 pm Hey guys, I just saw a guy (in the last 5 minutes - on my way home from work) trespassing and stealing wood from both my block and my neighbours block. He was loading whole planks of wood in the back of his 4wd. I confronted him, he jumped in his car and took off. I wrote down his license plate number. Is there actually anything we can do? Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 438Jun 03, 2011 7:22 pm That's awful! I would tell Fairmont and the police. You never know, maybe they're known for it by the police. You'd think the police would at least pay them a visit and that should deter them from doing it again in your estate. Surely, it would be dumb to go back and be seen again. Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 439Jun 03, 2011 7:25 pm Well the guy was out front of my place. So i pulled up across the road from him until he left. I sat there for 5 minutes. Then I drove around the block and came back and he was BACK out the front of my neighbours house... WHAT THE HELL!!! And he had 2 little boys about 4 and 6 in the car.. Really good role model there. "If don't wanna pay for it, nick it" Awesome.... Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 440Jun 03, 2011 7:29 pm Well done 1st build you have shown good restraint for not decking him but definitely call the cops and give his rego. I had heaps of timber stolen from mine and it was a hassle. Can i suggest that you post his rego car type colour etc so we can all keep an eye out for this scum and report him again if we see him A lot of those Covenants are put in place at the time the Developers are still involved and marketing a certain look and they get ignored or expire after a time.
