Yes there are people on here who wish to hear the good and bad but others have stated that they want to enjoy their build and don't want to hear the bad things that do happen during builds(it spoils their experience), thus the ones who cry the loudest from the stands. It is a forum for people to hear both sides of the story, good and bad and yes i will mock those who are part of the beechwood fan club, but for those who want to hear the other side and become aware of what may happen please feel free to pm me. A number of people have and have been more that thankful for the heads up and help offered. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 12778Jun 28, 2016 8:14 am Arms as I have said before I honestly feel bad for what you have been through. It must of been awful and extremely stressing. However I think that at times you were bringing down the quality of our builds when in fact we all don't have things go wrong or bad workmanship. I believe that was the difference. We all want to hear the good and the bad as it is what helps us all make the decision to build or not to build. Fact of the matter is some areas have better quality trades than others which is extremely unfortunate. Glad it is all rectified for you now. In home slabs it is normally due to improper clearance during formup of the slab and then movement during the actual pour and the concretor not checking and maintaining the clearance. I can almost guarantee you that until the edge of the slab is exposed and pressure cleaned you will not know the extent of the problem, we also had only around 4-5 spots that we could see, but once cleaned it was much worse than anyone thought. Problem is most people never become aware of the problem as most of the slab is back filled after formwork is removed thus hiding the problem. Beechwood will fight you on this but keep up the fight as it is a problem that can be costly down the track. If interested pm me and we can talk via email. For those asking the questions about what it is and what it can cause. It commonly leads to what is know as "concrete cancer", the exposed rio(or even just below the surface) is exposed to moisture which leads to rusting(concrete cover stops the egress of water) of the rio which expands as part of the process causing concrete spalling. Spalling is fracture and cracking of the concrete itself and besides the obvious rust stains can also lead to bulging of concrete and most home owners will notice it when tiles begin to lift and crack in exposed areas. Maybe they will never notice a problem but who wishes to take the chance. Google concrete cancer and see the power it has and the damage it can cause If going with the builder who using waffle pod slab, having same issues? Beechwood not using waffle pod is that rite? Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11755 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21496 |
